I gave #1 of this a shot. Surprisingly decent. Rather than just go for a bog-standard adaptation of the pilot, it picks up on bits of it and embellishes them with character monologues and adds other scenes showing what was going on elsewhere in the universe. Bright, breezy art and nicely dense.
A pleasant surprise.

Does it also have reprints of IDW's Animated strips?

This is IDW's Animated series. I'm not sure if it's a mini or an ongoing. It's been under my radar.
Confusingly, there is also a series of Animated digests from IDW, but they are just screen-grabs from episodes. The Arrival is an originated comic strip series.
I have no idea if the IDW stuff (original strips or screen-grabs) will turn up in Titan's UK Animated title. #1 of that is launched on October 23rd.

I thought the one you were talking about was the Titan one as I had no idea that IDW had made an Animated comic other than the ones with the screen grabs. I picked up the recent Free Comic Book Day issue of Animated recently which prints episode 1 of the cartoon from the digests and I'm not too impressed with that.

I would presume that it is a mini given IDW's previous strategy. I did think it was a little bit "bitty" in places, weaving in and out of the first three episodes of the series seems to have left it lacking a bit structurally. But I think it may shake out given an issue or two, and some of the individual scenes were pretty good. Karl

Issue 1 and 2 are okay, but not having seen more than a couple of episodes of the TV show, I didn't get that much from them. Really liked the back-up strip in number two, it was totally daft, but totally daft done really well and with great comic timing.
