www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/railcards-discounts/children-discounts.htmlChildren under five years of age
Up to two children under five years of age may accompany each fare-paying passenger free of charge, unless the Train Company you want to use specifies otherwise in their notices and other publications. However, children under five years of age who are travelling free may only occupy a seat which is not required by a fare-paying passenger.

Bit harsh for the parents of triplets!

No, each fare paying passenger can get two kids under five on for free.
There are so many horrible jokes that could follow that, but I shan't.
Single parents of triplets are boned though.

Not strictly news but ....
has anyone looked at what the featured Wikipedia article is for today?
The mind boggles that such a thing exists.

Another drunken punch-up? We can't really be shocked by this stage.
I just looked on Wikipedia's front page. The Icelandic Phallological Museum, eh? Fantastic.

Swindon Borough Council Highways Dept in end of tax year "use it or loose it" spending shocker!
You'd be amazed how much road maintainance you see in the run up to the end of March!

I thought the Bridge to Nowhere was the delayed M74 extension that led off the motorway in the city centre (yes, Glasgow - uniquely for a British city - has a motorway running through the city centre) that didn't connect to anything for about ten years because of the heavy remediation work needed to stabilise the massive illegal chromium waste dump in the path of the road. It was a holdover from a Victorian chemical works that didn't have the strictest environmental oversight. I had no idea there were two!
Re: the Falkirk mess: The papers at the weekend were mumbling about how this could widen the divisions between the current Labour party and trade unions and possibly lead to their complete separation. If it leads to a new left-wing party stepping in to collect all those potential votes I'm all for it! No idea who they would be though. Maybe the Artist Taxi Driver could start something.

Maybe they connected together in some higher-dimensional way at some point. Karl

I refuse to ever step on the now-completed footbridge. Years of passing by it when it went to Nowhere means it would mess with my head to be able to go Somewhere.
