WWII Bomb found in Exeter..... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-56221697.... or at least they think it's WWII. I personally think some unscrupulous ex Exeter University Science Student long ago buried a diversion into explosives to stop it being discovered. Not that we know anyone that fits that profile....

Whoa, that was a lot bigger than I was expecting. It sucks to be one of the nearby homeowners. Matrin

I did agree with you until I saw the size of the explosion, now I think Phil wins. Martin

It's shocking. When we do WW2 in school it's such a big subject, we focus on how the blitz affected the local area and look at maps that catalogue where bombs were dropped and of what type. Then I use clips I've edited out of Tony Robinson's Blitz Street documentary to show what effect those types of bombs have on houses. Does it say anywhere what type of bomb that was? It looks like a 500kg. I don't show the kids the clips of what V1 and V2 flying bombs did - a V2 explosion is absolutely terrifying even when set off safely.
