What I love most about this story is that the octopus has such a normal-sounding name. Germany are doomed! Martin

My mind can't cope with the large numbers of people in the world being affected by floods, etc. this week. However, this story about a small group of workers buried underground really makes me count my blessings. Talk about an ordeal. Let's just hope and pray they all make it through the months of waiting for rescue and return to daylight! Martin

Judging by the photo, I suspect it's all to hide the fact that there is actually no house in the midst of all that.

You'd think that he's trying to hide something, except that the trees actually attract attention.

I can't help but wonder that if someone is a civil engineer and already owns a property then they have the option of being able to afford to move to somewhere more isolated if they have such a strong desire for privacy.

Or maybe he should just he sectioned and put into isolation, that would keep him happy. Alternatively, maybe his neighbours shouldn't have ignored him when they moved in and became friends or something. Oh wait, communities don't exist anymore...

That's fantastic. The idea of a fake national football team is the sort of thing that people would say was too far-fetched if you pitched it as a film.

Wayne Rooney has signed a new 5 year deal at Man U, he could have gone about getting a new contract a whole lot less publicly.

In all seriousness, I think it's disgusting that Rooney is apparently now earning £250K a week and 500,000 public service workers could lose their jobs by 2015. Also I hate the fact that Rooney can get a pay rise after publicly throwing his toys out the pram.

He is a bit of a twat. In any other job you throw a strop about not being paid enough you have a good chance of being shown the door. He needs to remember he is a role model for lots of kids.

The problem for most of these footballers is they are so out of touch with reality, coupled with greedy agents on commission who generally needle and stir these things up so contracts get renegotiated and they get another fat payday.
Obscene really.
