No, there is no way of ever knowing exactly what was really in his mind. But given the professionalism demand by what he did I wouldn't be at all surprised it that was what he was attempting.
I saw him perform along with the rest of the team earlier in the year and all I can say is that it is a sad loss to his profession as well as an undoubted tragedy for those close to him.

She was never going to run in 2012. The timing is wrong. She's not pleasant but she has some political knowledge. She'll be back in 2016.
