I haven't booked anything yet but when I do (if I do) the Friday evening mini schedule is off the cards for me due to me having to cover for somebody at work on the Friday. What I do want to know is how much are the rooms in the hotel where the convention is being held and how do I go about booking them?

In terms of booking at the convention rate, we send out details to everyone as you register for the convention but prices are £65 for single rooms, £75 for twin/double and there is a small supplement for children. If I remember right, under 7's are free in their parents rooms. Prices are inclusive of breakfast.
I know it's not the cheapest hotel in Birmingham but it is a nice hotel (I'll be staying there myself for a few nights) but it's easier staying there than another hotel with the Saturday night programme and obviously a lot less hassle transporting your haul back to your hotel room! lol

Just booked my ticket for AA2009 so I should be there come August. I haven't booked the travel arrangements up to Birmingham yet though because I don't know when I will be getting up there. At this current moment somebody is off work on the week before and the week after the convention so I won't be able to get up there until Saturaday morning before leaving again Sunday evening. I'm hoping though that situations will change and I'll get up there on the Friday.

It's starting to look a bit dodgy for me as I still have no job start date and we're into April soon and I need to find a flat and have other work expenses to pay for.

I'm waiting for a carefully timed moment so I can get the boss to sign off for leave on Friday/Monday so I can go! Would be a bit tight otherwise.

Hurray! Time off work booked. Will pay for tickets, accomodation and the like come payday at the end of the month.
I look forward to seeing many Hubbers there!

Just do what I did (yes, MY boss pissed me about and tried to stop me from having the time off!) - told them I was already commited to being there a year ago and if I had to cancel then work would be liable to refund my losses!

Somehow I don't think that will work at my place. They refused to refund any taxi fare that I spent once by having to come into work at a time when no public transport was running. Their excuse was 'we provide the job we don't provide the transport!'

324? That's only eight short of 332!

If you'd have left it until tomorrow you may well have been 332... we're up to 327 now!
