Man-a-live, you have a lot of toys...
I had a few 2007s, it was mainly RotF that I bought a lot of. I think I became attracted to the alieniness of the movieverse figures, before I realised I actually hated the movies, and moved on all the figures.
One figure that sticks in my mind that I had is Leader class Brawl. That was a very impressive, intricate figure. I also enjoyed Delux Bonecrusher.
It is funny to think back now... I imagine the intricate movie designs gave you designers a headache. But they pulled it off, generally speaking.
Here's a question for you, guys: do you think the fact the designers had to try to replicate the complex designs from the movie improved the general design of Transformers toys across the franchise? Do the detailed Generations figures we have today owe some thanks to the fact the designers had to replicate the movie's intricate designs?

Do the detailed Generations figures we have today owe some thanks to the fact the designers had to replicate the movie's intricate designs? Possibly. But I think they also got quite a nice balance right out of the gate in making the toys close to the designs, but not slavish enough that they became messy. This was a mistake they subsequently made with RotF, and didn't really pull back for some time. And whilst I love some of the later movie toys, there are still some great toys in the 2007 line. I mean, I really like the first Leader Optimus. Sure, he's nowhere near as movie-accurate as the subsequent Primes, or my favourite Buster Prime, but he's also a better toy. He looks close enough to his movie representation that he passes, he's a solid toy, and he transforms in less than an hour. So yeah, I certainly think that Generations learnt a thing or two from the movie lines, and learnt how far they should go and where they should stop, too.

2007 Leader Prime was fun. The spy gear robots were nice. Otherwise a dreadful line.
ROTF was worse. Not a fun line.

Due to finances at the time I didn't actually end up getting many toys from that line, so maybe my opinion is skewed by the few that I did have. I actually only got Prime because of a deal Argos were doing which got me a free (? or maybe cheap) Blackout with it, too, and Blackout's also a great little toy.

I thought the RofF toys were fun at the time. Just ridiculous, alieny, silly guns popping out. Like Mixmaster with that hilarious canon mode. And Devastator was a pretty interesting reimagining of the character.

Having lots of time at the moment, gives me the time to have a fiddle with old toys from the past when watching some TV in the evening (sopmething else I never got to do much). One evening, I got out some of the Movie Decepticons (Demolisher, Bonecrusher, Mixmaster, Frenzy to name a few) and I really appreciated the detail and wonderful designs of the toys/robots. The colours, also being a bit plain and boring also gives them a more realistic look. I guess it has influenced toys since - as the Movie designs were very hard to make toys of (which made no sense) but forced Hasbro to do their best as they had no other choice, until they found out if they just stuck the vehicle on the back of the robot it would make things easier for them. But this was better for kids who actually wanted to play with the toys - the amount of ROTF toys that were returned in my last Toys R Us days proved they were just too complicated. My Leader Sentinal Prime has always been on display since I got him for Christmas in 2011. It made me wonder - if the films were good, would I like these toys more? Which is perhaps another discussion - does the on screen character or series denote wether you like a toy or not? The original RID toyline had mostly wonderful, well made toys - but I don't appreciate them because I associate them with the annoying cartoon that I just don't like much. On the other hand Que, IceCream Van Twins, Squweeks and Cogman are toys I just had to own for their unusual-ness, and we all know where they came from.

Yes, that has a heavy influence on me, I must admit. If I like the character and/or the source material I tend to be more interested in the toys. Studio Series is a very good toy line, but I haven't bought any because I don't care for the source material (and they don't have the TF asthetic). Only SS which is a must-buy for me is Shockwave, but that is because Shockwave is my favourite TF and I have a blind spot for toys of him, even if they are Movie ones. 2007 Leader Optimus is a very good toy, but I never bought any version of it as I dislike the movie Optimus character intensely. -Ralph

No, as far as I can see it's the one Movie item in with a load of mostly Armada designs

I found one if these back when they were out - probably from Ebay. I remember my wife at the time asking why they didn't just make him look like that in the actual film of that is what he is supposed to look like.
