Top week on the TNG Repeats last week: Next Phase, Inner Light, Time's Arrow 1 & 2 and Realm of Fear.
This week starts with Man of the People.... cannot remember a thing about it. Relics, Schisms, TrueQ & Rascals to follow.

I enjoyed it.
Man of the People was good today when it got going. And I've realised Schisms is one of my favourite episodes whose name I can never remember!

It turns out the aliens aren't bad! They are refugees from another dimension! They only experiment on beings to learn how they can survive here as otherwise they will...DIE!!!

I have to say Man of the People is one of my skip episodes. I hate the "troi gets violated" episodes more than any others.

Rascals tonight. Dreadful, had to turn off after 5 mins. Last appearance of Guinan until Generations. -Ralph ...this is one of those "Wait, that can't be right" that makes you question reality moments.

I'm glad I questioned reality, because reality was solid! Rascals wasn't Guinan's last appearance. Suspicions was!

Picard has some incredibly harrowing things happen to him over the series. Turned into a Borg, tortured by the Cardassians, the thing with the flute, his brother and nephew dying, all the Klingon shinanigans.

Depends how it's counted. Startrek.com also announced a Discovery s3 episode as the 800th. It's all very confusing.

Pick TNG Repeats: Missed Rightful Heir yesterday. Second Chances today, Timescape tomorrow. Descent Thursday & Friday Meanwhile in Horror Voyager Repeats: Scorpion 1 yesterday, 2 tonight. We're busy tomorrow when The Gift is one and annoyingly it's not in the Borg Fan Collective DVD set so we'll need to catch the morning repeat on Thursday. Day of Honour & Nemesis I'm not bothered about. There's a couple of other episodes missing from the Fan Collective set - memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Trek:_Fan_Collective_-_Borg - in addition to The Gift, Unity, The Raven, Infinite Regress, Survival Instinct, Collective and possibly Child's Play could all have been added.

TNG Pick Repeats this week: Liaisons, Interface, Gambit, Part I & II and Phantasms
Yeah,not great.
I think Horror's Voyagers look better overall: Revulsion, The Raven, Scientific Method, Year of Hell: Part I & II

I never understood why The Gambit was a two parter.
It's a solid concept for a story, but it's so drawn out that it's just tedious.

The answer is that by Season 7 the writing staff were knackered both by the show but also some of them were also involved with DS9, setting up Voyager or working on the Generations movie. Jeri Taylor has spoken frankly about the burn-out/stress of the period. It's why they kept going to stories about the crew's familes in that last year as there wasn't much brain space left over for thinking up stories!
