Ah. I guess it's another part of what I always say: TNG's bad episodes are clustered in the front, when they didn't know what they were doing yet. Or at the rear, when they didn't know what to do anymore.

I think my opinion of 7 may be raised by the good episodes I remember - Parallels, Masks, Eye of the Beholder & All Good Things - being really good.

Masks was the worst episode of Star Trek ever made until the Lower Decks show!

In a world with Shades of Gray in it, none of those things are true.

Lower Decks is my favourite of the current shows. Favourite since DS9.
Worst episode? Take your pick from so many Voyager ones.
Though Lower Decks is even managing to make me want to like Voyager, such is its power.

Enjoyed Phantasms from last week's TNG and The Raven from Voyager but was a poor week generally.
TNG on Sky: Dark Page, Attached, Force of Nature, Inheritance & Parallels
Parallels is the only one I remember and indeed have seen recently.
Voyager on Pick: Random Thoughts, Concerning Flight, Mortal Coil, Waking Moments & Message in a Bottle
Message in a Bottle I've seen, but a disturbing lack of a Police soundtrack

Watching Star Trek V: The Final Frontier!
No idea when I saw this last.
It's starts out alright actually! I like Kirk, Spock and Bones camping.
How does Sybok do his 'thing'? Telepathy?
The Enterprise being a wreck is not a satisfying plot thread I have to say. It's too silly and detracts from the story.
The Klingons in this are not a convincing threat at all. Kala is it? Acts like a brooding spoilt brat.
When then land on the Enterprise in the shuttle, they're only supposed to have a "less than skeleton crew", right? So why are there two dudes who function it is to carry the steps over to the shuttle?
Kirk's wrestling Catwoman now...

And.... There's a black hole at the centre of the galaxy...

Nice ending. Them sitting around the camp fire....
It's not bad, you know. It's got some good bits in it. It's just let down by some goofy bits and some bit flaws in the story.
Why do they used the Motion Picture/Next Generation music again?

Couldn't Goldsmith write anything new?

Goldsmith was still doing great work in the 90s, I doubt he wasn't up to it - more likely the choice to keep the familiar music was down to the producers?

Yes.
It's also why the theme was again reused by Goldsmith for 8, 9 and 10.

Trek Repeats:
TNG: Parallels, The Pegasus, Homeward, Sub Rosa & Lower Decks
Voyager: Hunters, Prey, Retrospect & The Killing Game 1 & 2
Enterprise reaches s4 at some point - Weds I think which is good as the Xindi episodes have wanged chung, and TOS returned last week on Horror but at 8pm - I *THINK* It's Where No Man Has Gone Before tonight

I would imagine Starfleet would have drudged it up and tore it apart for every klingon secret they could. Particularly the cloak.

That's "floating happily" spelt "s i n k i n g   r a p i d l y"
Algeron: nobody knows, assumed to be the name of the planet the treaty was signed on. I only know this cos I saw Pegasus yesterday
