I'm marveling once more at CR Dollrailer's (Onslaught's) base mode.
But what's the best Scramble City/Special Team Leader Base Mode ?
Remember you're voting on BASE MODE ONLY not vehicle, robot or combined form.

Snaptrap doesn't have a basemode though!

Scattershot has a really fun basemode, with his giant cannon of dooooooooooooooom!

Yes, is meant to be Scattorshot. And as requested, pictures. I love TFU as a resource but their base mode pictures are p!$$ poor. Silverbolt but loose the Superion chest piece. Motormaster I think the cab should be split in two and folded to the sides. HotspotOnslaught but the cab halves should be folded to the sides. ScattershotHun-Grrr

Hug-Grrr? Has Phil secretly been Hug-Man all along and we've been fooled into thinking it's someone else entirely.
HOLY CHRISTMAS INTRIGUE BATMAN!

Motormaster is pictured correctly, but you're right about Onslaught, the cab halves should be folded around. Also, I'm not certain but I don't think he's supposed to have the gun in that mode; if it is attached, it should be facing the ramp. Oh, and your links don't work.

I was going to vote for Motormaster because he changes shape the most, but then, Hug-Grrr is SO adorable! :3

The gun should be in that mode but when the cab halves are folded out it's placed the other way round over the back of Onslaught's head. See www.cobraislandtoys.com/tf/1986/onslaught.html for a correct picture. From the same site, Motormaster: www.cobraislandtoys.com/tf/1986/motormaster.html I was right ! Both toys have instruction scans

Ah yes! I recognise Onslaught's gun in that picture. I said it should face the ramp if it was attached, though. I suppose I was remembering that it shouldn't be in the holes, but not remembering it should be on the end. As for Motormaster, I'm not convinced. Have I been wrong for over twenty years?!? If not for the desk in the way of my instructions drawer, I would have checked already. I'm doomed to wonder! I feel so cold..... Edit: Wait a minute! I didn't see the instructions at first. Compare Motormaster's instructions with the photo. They haven't been followed. The cab stays as it is. I was right! Phew, I can sleep tonight.

See www.cobraislandtoys.com/tf/1986/scramblecity1.jpg So in this case the instructions are wrong !

They actually clip on to Metroplex?!? Why did nobody tell me this when I was seven?!? Though I didn't actually have Hotspot and Onslaught until Classic and Silverbolt at Generation 2; I'd have had no reason to attach Motormaster.
I suppose we're both right in a sense: you're right as far as what was intended and I'm right as far as the instructions provide.

Wasn't Trypticon able to attach to the bases as well?
I didnt realise that Hun-Grr could do it to. Where all the scramble city toys designed at the same time? And fior that matter are they Diaclone or Hasbro/Takara designs?

I never knew they could do that! I knew the smaller special team members could clip on to the legs but not the leaders.
