I really enjoyed the last eps. As Karl said, dramatically it seemed to stutter along a bit in places, but I enjoy Sylar and the Patrellis, as I enjoy all the characters, and it was great to see them all in the same spot getting involved against Sylar, and a touching sacrifice at the end had Mrs Shockprowl's lip quivering (yeah alright it was my lip). Brilliant where my fave character, Hiro, ended up! Overall, an excellant series. Yes, standard American TV acting from a couple of the cast, but the towering acting from the likes of Noah made up for that. I agree it seemed to come to a very tidy ending, although interesting how they managed to slip in the bit from the Walker girl about a foe even worse than Sylar. And there were alot of unanswered questions about the group that Peter's mum and dad worked for. Oh, and where was the Hiatian? I'm looking forward to series 2 immensely, although I hope it's not as slow going and 're-do series1' as alot of people are saying.

Nearly missed the final episode as I forgot BBC3 wasn't showing it, and it started straight after the penultimate one on BBC2. Luckily though some channel hopping saw me get to BBC2 and see Heroes listed as both 'now' and 'next'.
Now has Christopher Eccleston's character been killed off-screen or something?, cus Sylar seemed to have some invisibility going on at a few points.
Anyway overall it seems like this season has been a complete story, but with some details left out and a few things dropped in last minute in order to stretch it out to another season. Which seems like a bad idea, and with people saying season two isn't up to much so far, I fear it's going to be a waste of time.
Not much of a cliffhanger at the end as surely Hiro will just teleport out of there 5 seconds into the next episode. Can't think of anything in that situation that would make him want to stay. I fear though, what will actually happen is, he'll be unable to use his powers again - which is just fucking stupid really.
I hope I'm wrong.

Well, the obvious thing to do with Hiro would have been to put him at a slightly earlier point in history - around the 1560's - 1600 when various figures were striving to unify the country (allowing him to interact with bits of the Takeo Kensei story that they were alluding to this season). In honesty though - I felt that landing him in the Tokugawa Shogunate felt like a bit of an after-thought. A kind of "we've finished his character arc, lets do one last silly thing with him before the curtain falls."
However - I shall likely never know what they actually do with it in any event.

I seem to be in a minority in thinking season 2 is quite good. As a weekly instalment the first few episodes are probably not that strong, really lacking those great season 1 cliffhangers, but watched in a block they make a strong story. By episode 7 its starts working as individual episodes as well.

Eccleston's character was one of the high points for me of series one. I feel they'd deffinately have shown Sylar getting him if he had got him, if you know what I mean. Look forward to maybe seeing him in 2.

Not something that needed brought back.
Thought the original premise was done by the end of the first series.

I think I'll look forward to it more the fewer original cast that come back.
The thing that screwed Heroes first time was the refusal to be done with Sylar. He should have gone after season 1. Quite a few of the other characters should have been allowed to run their course too. I get why no one involved wanted to sack a group of actors who had just become superstars, but if each season had started with an all but new cast and story I'm sure it would have been better.

It became a bit like the second series of Pertwee DW where the one villain was behind everything!

I find it hard to get excited about this considering how massively off the rails it went after S1.

Never got to watch the original. I tried to watch the new series, but dumped it after like, three episodes. It was soooo boring, and I honestly don't see much of the point, anymore?
Heroes at it's time was pretty much the only superhero game in town. Now, we've got Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, SHIELD, Agent Carter, and Gotham on TV, and Dardevil and Alias on netflix. And all of them are doing the superhero thing better, and more faithfully. And all of them are doing it kinda differently from each other, too.
I'm not saying there's no place for original concepts or characters, but I just couldn't see what the new Heroes series was doing different or more interestingly than the rest. I actually stopped watching the pilot for ten minutes to catch a new episode of Steven Universe, and felt like I missed nothing going back to it.

It was an NBC show. It's been cancelled for some time, and hasn't been on air here, since before the new year, I believe.
