Interesting reaction thread here.
I'm pointing it out as, like The Best of Simon Furman, the book is apparently not as solicited in that it would appear (going by feedback) not to include every cover image as promised, worth noting considering the high price point.
Now, bearing that in mind, I've had a flick through a copy and despite some niggles with the design and taking it on its own merits, I did think it was quite a nice book, well made with lovely paper, and will likely snag a copy off Amazon at some future date. But it isn't what was advertised, and that's the second time that's happened with the $50 hardcover line. I think the lesson with the IDW Hardcovers is wait until it's released to see what's in it rather than pre-ordering.

I hadn't even considered getting this up until now. However, my love of a good artbook has been piqued - and it would be nice contrast to the rather poor showing of the last artbook I bought. Might think about picking it up in due course.
A little poor in that the solicitation text is erroneous again. This is something they really need to lock down. Especially with something as pricey as these hardcovers.

I wasn't that bothered before hand as the solicits made it sound the same as the 2 Cover Gallery magazines (which I already have). Now I've seen it, it is different enough to possibly pick up. Try before you buy though. It's a 'love it or hate' it type of book, ie the big blow-ups of bits of covers or panels will annoy some. Not all the artists are to my tastes (Alex Milne's stuff being the only style I cannot decipher) but the Roche, Guidi and Su stuff in particular looks great.

I'm just getting around to getting a look at this now and I'm definitely going to get this. I didn't think I'd be interested in the Simon Furman book but gave in to my weakness after seeing it in the shop.
Regarding Alex Milne's work, I agree with Ralph that it can be sometimes a chore to figure out exactly what's going on. If he didn't have to cram so many panels on to a page he might be able to show a bit more detail, so I think the writing of the Megatron origin hasn't done him any favours. The colouring has also been very dark in that story and that hasn't helped his cause either.
