Amazon currently have it listed for July. Cover by Nick Roche, apparently: "I don't have any control over the cover, but I thought Don did a nice job with V1. Nick Roche is doing V2, and while I haven't seen it yet, I have every confidence that it'll be a cool and appropriate image." From: www.allspark.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t40424-0.html-Ralph

I'm rather hoping that some of the "Masterforce" stuff makes it in. I would love to see some of those character models reproduced at a decent size.
The first book was a nice addition to my shelf, so I feel fairly sure I will be picking this one up as well.

I'm pretty certain this will end up on my book shelf when it comes out.

It will be on mine too.
I am pleasantly surprised sales were strong enough to warrant a second volume. I would have thought a book of black and white animation models for a kids toy show that aired almost 25 years ago would have been the very definition of niche! Especially with all the other TF books that were released in 2007.

Regarding contents: 'Hey Everyone, Here's the skinny- The Ark 2 will feature the various Japanese Anime and Manga series. Including: Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Battlestars and Operation: Combination. I just finished dropping in the logos for the cover. Nich Roche drew it for us and it looks awesome! Josh Burcham did the coloring and it REALLY "pops"!!! Up the Irons! -Bill Forster' Originated from: idwpublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2808&sid=7197adc2a1e483cf8a575fc28711dac0-Ralph

Although I'm not a fan of Victory Nick's illustration of Victory Leo is superb and I hope the character appears in a future IDW story.

That cover art does look really nice. Quite like the God Ginrai rendition there. I look forward to grabbing this book when it comes out.

You don't need to grab it. Merely pick it up. However, if you do find it needs grabbing then you may have come across a wild copy and require specialist help. Trained experts are standing by to take your call.

Does anyone know where I could easily get hold of Volume 1 of The Ark?
I want to get both Volume 1 and 2 of The Ark for my birthday but Volume 1 is not in stock at Play or Amazon and I don't want to pay upwards of £50 for it on Amazon marketplace. Ebay doesn't have it either.
Thank you in advance.

Amazon are currently quoting a projected shipping date of July 29th for Volume 2 (however, like most Amazon shipping dates I would anticipate this being somewhat elastic in either direction to be honest.) Karl

Amazon do tend to ship graphic novels and the like a few weeks after they hit comic stores. Presumably they come from a different distribution stream.

Yeah, they don't usually use Diamond for their GN's.

Volume 2 definitely exists, no matter what Amazon says. FPG had 4 copies in today.

Excellent - knowing that it has emerged into existence is comforting. Now, the question becomes do I wait for an Amazon pre-order to yield the goods, or do I pounce.
It is a test of my patience I guess...

It has some stuff in it I did not know existed, like character models for the combined forms of the Japanese exclusive cassettes. And nice pictures of both modes of the extra Headmasters heads: Kirk and gang.
And the Dinoforce from Victory get a nice spread.
The commentary is decent throughout, just enough to give the pictures some context (I learned a few new things) but not enough that the illustrations are swamped. Pleasingly, the book uses the Japanese names for characters and factions throughout: Destrons instead of Decepticons, etc.
A few points deducted as a handful of illustrations are a bit pixillated. But overall, quality is quite good. And it has cutaways for the Cybertron and Destron bases from Masterforce, for goodness sakes!
The intro makes mention of material being compiled that isn't in the book, so looks like we might be getting a volume 3!

Sounds like a great book but I think I'll get volume one before this one though.

It does sound like a pretty good book. Hearing that Dinoforce, who I will always have a soft spot for, get well-treated wins it bonus points from me.
I think I shall be picking this up one way or another.

I flicked through a copy in FP earlier today (£12.99 or something). It's stonkingly good, which is even more impressive when you consider I hated the first volume.

I've ordered Volume 1 through WHSmith but I got an email from them saying that they apologise for not yet being able to fulfil my order and that they would continue to obtain the book.
If anyone has a copy of Volume 1 that they don't want then seriously please consider selling it to me, I would rather have two copies of Volume 1 than none at all.

Brought this book from FP today and I'm impressed by it. The detail in the sketches are very good and it doesn't seem to miss out any of the characters used in the Japanese run of Transformers.

Andrew, if you check the FP link in this thread, they have volume 1 in stock.
I did check FPG and A1 for you, but they just had volume 2.

Cheers Ralph. FP has been a funny site because I've checked their site about three different times and each time the status has changed from being out, in then out of stock. I looked at WHSmith a number of times and each time they said they had it in stock. So I'll check FP again.
