I think I have a spot for one of those as well. Good to see.

Roll on, er, next August.
Good to see IDW putting out reasonably priced big reprint books. Hopefully some Omnibii editions of Spotlight/-Ations will come out in due course.

Daft question, but are these in colour or black and white?

Colour, AFAIK.

Colour, apparently it costs as much for IDW to get the books done in colour as it would for black and white - hence why the Classic Transformers ominibi (is that even a word?) are in colour.

Good value if it's in colour, but a shame in another way as I would be quite interested to see a lot of the UK stuff in black and white. Plus the reproduction quality of the original strips in the Best Of UK comics is terrible at best.

The original film for these comics is probably lost, without which clear b and w is not really achievable. The best we could hope for is greyscale.
Better colour scans could be done with some effort and remastering though.

Yeah the colour scans are pretty ropey in places, the same as with Titan as they appear to neither have the time or budget to make it look good. Unlike say Panini's efforts with the Doctor Who trades they did.

Though it looks in places that IDW are using Titan's scans, they do at least look rather more acceptable at the standard US comic size. IDW may take the view that scans are available and the books will sell X units so shy bother with extra effort. Generally, though, if you want good repro on the UK stories you have to hunt down the original issues/annuals.
