Just had my walk right round the local nature reserve. Just a thin coating of snow over everything today. When I came out of the woods into the meadow, I saw... THEM! I felt compelled to turn towards a non-existent viewer and utter the immortal line: "Oh boy! Wabbit twacks!" I lurked for ten minutes hoping to see the wabbits emerge to build a snowshow wabbit, but they didn't. Then dogs came, so that was the end of that. Came out of the nature reserve by Sainsbury's, went in for some provisions, and came out with two more James Bond DVDs, dammit! ('The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'Moonraker'. Which means I have the first five Connerys, the first five Moores, and all four Brosnans. Surely that's enough for a man to live on! Oh, I should have mentioned in that other thread that I like many Bond films more than the books they're based on.) Try to do some housework now, maybe followed by a pub lunch and some reading of Don Quixote. But later, it will inevitably be... Bond... James Bond. And 'Hustle'. It's snowing again. Snow RULES. I would even venture that it's 'throttleworthy'. And it provides a good opportunity to use up accumulated flexi-time. Stay warm and safe, everybody! Martin

Had planned on going for a run today, but must have been lying awkwardly in my sleep as I have woken up with a rather sore neck and movement isn't easy today.
Bum.
Sounds like you had a rather good morning Martin, damn I wish the snow was better here. However, there are plenty of wabbits in the public park where Susie gets her walk, so I get to see them most days.

Terrifying course related task today: we had to go into workplaces/shops and ask the staff questions about their work. So cold-calling with a clipboard of doom. This is the exact opposite of my comfort zone. I thought I'd be clever and headed off to the health centre but was told to piss off. So I went to the local community centre (where young Ralph minced about as a nipper) and handily found some people happy to talk to me, though it cost me 90p for a roll with black pudding.
The name of the centre...?
THE HUB!

They stole our name!!!!!!!
More sledging today. Piglet enjoyed being pulled up the hill as much as she enjoys wazzing down it. As I pulled her up, coupla times I realised the weight had changed behind me and turned to find her face down in the snow. She'd just look up at me and grin. She's mad! She's MAD! She's madder than mad Jack McMad, winner of last years Mr. Mad Man competition! (a the prize of a small turnip goes to who ever can tell me which ep of Black Adder that line comes from!)
On a down note I've been given a refferal on one of my essays. Damn it.

They stole our name!!!!!!! It's always been the Hub. It was where my short lived career as captain of the local Cubs' football team died a swift and hilarious death. It was where, many years later, I had hours of amusement keeping an eye on inept drug dealers at under 18 discos as a volunteer. For me, there has always been...a Hub. -Ralph

Ralph: We have a local Youth Club here called The Hub too, but its not the one I work with.
Shockprowl: Been there too, but at least you get another chance to tackle the essay. Glad you got to have fun in the snow.
At RULES HQ. Earlier this afternoon, Zip and Star destroyed Xob the Snowman...

There are "Hubs" everywhere. And they're all linked. Ready. Waiting.

There are "Hubs" everywhere. And they're all linked. Ready. Waiting. Aren't most of them former front organisations for a government organisation. The Torch something or other Foundation or? I am jealous of those folk that have snow on the ground at the moment. What little we had retained has long since melted, and the few flakes we had today didn't lie. Although I was treated, by a freak effect of the layout of the neighbourhood around the office, to the sight of snow falling upwards this morning. Not as good as wabbit tracks I have to say, but still, amusing. The day itself was more than a little hectic, one of those days where you count yourself lucky if you manage to achieve a quarter of what you set out to. I have however managed to fit in a haircut, so I am back to my prefered close-shaved clipper-cut configuration. (The drag penalty from the longer hair was starting to annoy me - cuts into my loaded airspeed you see..) I would appear that they still haven't managed to unfreeze the points in the Stirling area, as the trains are still rather messed up. For some reason I can't help but imagine a bloke armed with a hairdryer and a very, very long extension lead doing what he can to resolve the situation.... Karl

A bit of ice and a smattering of snow, and the entire nations transportation infrastructure implodes.

Going out in the snow again today. Uni lectures are cancelled and appointments are rainchecked.
Will make the most of this day I think.

Make hay while the sun shines. Or whatever one should make while the snow falls!

Planet Falkirk is disappearing...a steady onslaught of snow has descended, about an inch in the last hour and still continuing to fall. It looks absolutely lovely out there, with the snow softening the sodium yellow of the lights. Nice to have some proper winter weather after the peally-wally attempts we have had over the last couple of weeks.
Mind you, not that it hasn't been impressively cold. I went away for a couple of hours along the canalside this morning and discovered where the only snow (at the time) in Falkirk was. It was on the canal - and I do mean on the canal, not the towpath. There was a light dusting of snow sitting on top of the surface of the canal, atop a layer of ice that was at least two to three inches thick. I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been thick enough to support my weight. No, I didn't try it - I can be foolhardy but not that foolhardy. But some teenagers apparently weren't quite so reticent, as I observed them walking across the canal. (Judging by the tracks in the snow a medium-sized dog had also decided that the canal made for a viable pedestrian route as well).
After my little expedition I came home and got on with a bit of pottering in the kitchen and some sorting out. Now I've got a big pile of boxes sitting in my living room to head up into the loft on my next trip. But I think I shall leave that for another day.

I work start a Week 7 Thread because I can't think of a catchy and likable episode title.
Hopefully today I will resolve some issues on one of my Uni modules. I don't want to have to end up leaving it like many people in my class seem to have done due to the difficulties and poor communication. Hanging in there.
