Had a Futurama marathon not long ago, so have seen them fairly recently but I'm tempted to watch them again. Also that South Park ep with the Jesus/Santa/Hanukkah/Duran Duran medley.

Top-secret news, everyone!
Futurama is back!
The first episode seemed to feel like it needed to get a lot done to re-introduce the cast, but episode two was Futurama back on form and like it never left.
Zap Brannigan is, as always, pure gold!
I downloaded the episodes, legally, from the iTune store in glorious HD.
*If you count the four DVD "movies" split into 4 episodes each as Season 6.

Mr Thomson, I've been meaning to axe... are you completely sure of your facts? I decided to wait for the DVD, but on iTunes the new series I could not see. Numbering is off too (though so is iTunes, not just you). Four seasons, four movies prior to this. Was there really a fifth I happened to miss?

Yeah, I wondered about G's numbering too.

www.epguides.com/Futurama/ agrees with us. 4 series + movies + new episodes. *however* IIRC one of the US seasons was split interestingly on UK broadcast.....

The episodes are on iTunes USA, To get an account I cannot say! But if you look at the link Phil kindly provided, You'll see how the seasons are clearly divided... What was broadcast on American TV Doesn't quite match what they had on DVD. Regardless, though, the new series is a thrill I've always thought Futurama was brill!

Managed to see the first few episodes. Much better than the four movies which I thought while okay were not a patch on the series.

Yeah, the four movies I liked, but the seemed to lack the imagination of the previous series.
The new stuff is like a return to form, for sure. And there seems to be more an effort to make it a bit more heartwarming.

The last few episodes were blinding brilliant. great to see the Globetrotters again.
I hear there's a Christmas special in the works with Coolio reprising his role as Kwanzabot.

I see the season 5 (what we are talking about in this thread) boxset is out in December. In the US anyway. Though I seem to recall we got most of the specials around the same time.

There really is a big gap with the season releases. Season 6 has been pushed back to the end of June. Guess there will be a while before I'm out of new episodes then.
