I used to have the Legend. Great toy. Shelfwarmed massively round my way. The days when you could get a Transformer for £2.99!

I think I still have one floating around at the moment. Will have to see if I can find it in the next roll-call.
The US Store exclusive one was really good - I liked the colour scheme on it and it did look like it had better justification for its existence than the ginormous one.

The colours/translucent plastic make him look like he could be a Beast Machines era toy.

The Conjunx informs me, with no small amount of glee, that she has one of those in her possession. I knew there was a reason I married her.

The colours/translucent plastic make him look like he could be a Beast Machines era toy. Andy Actually he would fit in with that aesthetic quite well. He has a bit of a Nightcruz vibe going on. Heck, even the name would fit in fairly well:- "Crumplezone, DEFORM!" :-) Karl

He did .... but it has rather backfired. The arch necrobumper bumped a thread containing the 2009 posts om the first page which I had missed in my quest to tidy up the forum. I immediately merged it into the Cybertron thread.

*consults wiki on what on earth Cybertron defence is* Woah! How big is Red Alert's missile launcher?! How did he even stand up!? S'in scale to his vehicle mode though - ballistic missiles are fairly hefty things after all. (And actually he stood up pretty well - as long as you didn't lean him forward. There was a fair amount of heft in the legs as I recall. At least, the Countdown redeco stood up pretty securely. Great toy that, so much play-value in it). Karl

All three of the CD figures were great. They were some of the best of Cybertron.

As Jetty said all three are good toys. It was about time Red Alert got a decent toy. Hotshot too although the previous Cybertron Hotshot was lso good.

I'd love the Minicon repaints back again but they're silly money.

So I was sitting here fiddling with Siege Galaxy Optimus, and made me start thinking about the original Cybertron line.
After all these years, I'm still salty about the fact they missed a fantastic opportunity to give us an Optimus and Megatron for every planet. At least for Optimus. We got Cybertron and Beast Planet. They were releasing a repaint of Armada Supercon Optimus anyway, and that could easily have been called Earth. It would have been nice to see a Velocitron Optimus to round it out.
Megatron has a lot further to go though, and knocking out the pointless supreme starscream and promoting Metroplex to that spot (and bumping Menasor and Quickmix up a size class) woulda been a good start to making room for another Megatron somewhere. Though, short of a deluxe sized downscale (which I do think they should have done. Making Megatron available in deluxe like they did with armada optimus and un-mass-released energon optimus should have been just as important) for Velocitron, I'm unsure what they could have done. They never went through with the apocalypse planet, giant planet would be the same size as his "main" toy or even smaller, we got beast, his main toy fits both Cybertron and Velocitron, and that ultimately just leaves Earth.

Interesting idea... The Beast Planet BWX redecos and Armada deco tweak are effectively padding to extend the line though.
There's plenty of ideas in Cybertron that wasn't expanded properly, they could have easily done another six months to a year. More Giant planet - 2 of which were skipped in Japan, more arms for Op/Meg.
We have my GC-01 Galaxy Force Op sitting outside the G1 Cupboard waiting for a play. I've not got the Megatron any more, it really did't do anything for me.
The upscaled Starcream bemused me at the time and does still now. Shelfwarming waste of plastic.
There's a lot of Cybertron on my must rebuy list: Cybertron Defence Scattorshot & Red Alert. Vector Prime. Maybe Jetfire.
Blimey, what's up with all the Vector Primes on eBay? So many missing their shoulder pads!
Then there's the continued bitterness over not buying the Blue Ramble.....

Also don't forget that while there's not an Optimus Prime for every planet, there was a Convoy for every planet:
