So let's get this straight... A few weeks ago a complete Longtooth showed up on eBay. Then later in the same week another appears. The same seller is also selling one sans guns. Nothing terribly strange in this, but I went slightly crazy and paid £32 for the first one. The second was only at £15 at that time with 1 bidder. Now the second one is up to about £30 too. So what's going on? Surely this pretender is not that popular so is it just us Hubbers desperate to get our hands on one due the Walrus' popularity around here? And in case you're wondering about the sausages, I heard you like t-shirts.

I was one of the bidders on Longtooth the first!

It wasn't me, I've had him for years. I don't have the guns yet, but I've been building him up slowly - I bought the robot, car rear and each shell half all separately.

Because of their comics prominance, Longtooth and the Con small pretenders fetch silly money
Doubleheader and Pincer less so

I haven't had the funds to bid on a Longtooth, even if I was tempted.

Uh oh... Aieee.... Y'know for an autobot, that skull belt buckle is pretty menacing...

Fun fact - due to design similarities it is often hypothesised that stranglehold was going to be an Autobot (big human) and Longtooth was going to be a Con (monster, shares the same skull design both Bludgeon and Octopunch have)
Even more interestingly, it seems that the inside robots were swapped about too, though never having owned a complete one I have no clue how each one physically fits to the mold.
Think about it though. in total, there are three vehicles and three animal things. Who was originally designed with who, and on what side?

But Stranglehold's porn* star 'tache is EVIL! Ergo, Decipticon. I've also just noticed the anchor "tattoo" on Longtooth's left arm. He's so hardcore. * Please, for the love of god, no jokes about purple helmets.

Y'know for an autobot, that skull belt buckle is pretty menacing... A giant walrus monster with teeth half its own height and you say its belt is menacing? Stranglehold looks like a young Burt Reynolds, especially in profile.

Well Longtooth's belt design is pretty much identical to Octopunch's belt (go check it out!). It seems safe to assume that they were originally designed as a pair with Bludgeon as their leader

I wish they would do the Pretenders some decency and give them homages with mre poseability. I hate the Pretender concept - but folks like Longtooth need more love than they got.
