That's a shame, it would have been awesome to see Bob Budiansky. Maybe next time!

To be honest I would have rather have Uncle Bob over, but I do understand and appreciate the economics at work as well as the frankness of the organisers (who are, after all, doing it for fun) so I'm not going to moan about it. Perhaps we could sculpt a giant effigy of Uncle Bob out of mashed potatoes instead and pretend it's him.

I will be completely honest with everyone as I was in the interview over at tf@tm... Bookings are doing INCREDIBLY well right now compared to previous years and we are well on course to smash all of our previous attendance records. I'd say that at a rough guess we are about 40% up on last time and the bookings are coming in at a steady pace with no signs of a slow-down, something that has really surprised me! I'd have to get a realistic figure from Bob in terms of his costs and a cut-off date for when he'd need to be able to confirm and that would set my attendance target to be able to make it happen but as I say with everything for Auto Assembly, never say never...!

Would be inetersting to see at future event a Simon / Bob talk on how they took a different take on writing the stories.

But which is better? There's only one way to find out.... Fight!
Seriously, though, getting Bob over at some point would be fantastic.

As much as I would like to see Uncle Bobby B as a guest, I imagine he wouldn't be a very good one.
He probably wouldn't remember very much of his time on the Marvel comics twenty odd years ago, he hasn't got any exciting new Transformers projects in the pipeline to chat about.
I always get the feeling, certainly from recent interviews with him, that Transformers was just a job at the end of the day. Sure, he must have been enthusiastic at the beginning and he did come up with some wonderful stories, ideas and characters.
But these days? I don't think he has much interest any more.

What about asking on his IDW Movie comic.

Anyway, this is slightly wandering off-topic. Maybe talk of a possible appearance from Bob could go in the guest thread?
I'm hoping to have a preview of Liam's colours available by the weekend. I've seen an early version and it's looking stunning!
