I've not seen any of his work Top Ten is really the only thing that I associate him with and it was not really my cup of tea.
As to whether we need a Bumblebee miniseries.... we don't need Transformers comics in any absolute sense in any event, but as I gather Bumblebee hasn't really done very much in IDW's new continuity so it would give them a chance to establish who he is post-reboot I guess. (I'm presuming that it will be in the AHM continuity, as I can't see the "semi-reboot" comment hinting at a second ctrl-alt-del in two years).

I'd prefer just a Spotlight issue of him.

I am confused by the rebooting comments. Originally AHM was marketed as a reboot, then it wasn't, then it was as a 'soft reboot'. I am honestly unsure as to what 'soft reboot' means. I mean, as New Who shows, you dont need to completely go against all past continuity to make something accessable to new viewers/readers. I take it to mean that everything that happened before 'kinda' happened but might not have, so you can say, introduce Bombshell twice, ignore some past characterisation (like Hot Rod for example) and also change some locationally things about (like how dangerous Cybertron is, people on Earth don't believe in giant space robots etc etc). However it probably needed to lay that out clearly at the start, since as a reader I have no clue what has been kept / what hasn't been kept. So the sudden inclusion of Hunter as Sunstreaker's motivation is a bit out of nowhere and does rely on you having read the past minis. Of course going by the sales figures it seems they weren't able to get any new readers, so it makes sense to start tying it in more to what has gone before. Also the sales may not be through the roof (around 11k an issue) but they have become remarkably steady which in this day and age is no easy thing.

I've always seen it as a bit of courtesy term - suggesting that "we are rebooting this but we may keep some aspects of the previous version, but nothing is canonical until it is refered to by the new continuity" At least, that is how I interpret it.
