Problem is, though, that if you try to watch the trailer on the adult swim website you get a message saying it cannot be viewed outside the US and are directed to the UK one. I can't see any mention of GI JOE on the UK website though.

There's a digital TV channel that puts on Adult Swim programmes occasionally. I think it may be Bravo but I'm not sure. Maybe It'll come up on there sooner or later.

It is indeed Bravo that broadcast most of the Adult Swim stuff. Hence why it's not available to view on the adult swim website in the UK.

Hurray for the writer putting up the links.
Pretty good stuff thus far. That's how you do webisodes.

Yep, fast paced and no filler so far. Animation is pretty good too.
Here's hoping we get a TF equivalent, Ellis in charge of Transformers, now that would be something.

Frankly, I'd be happy with more GI JOE of this quality.

Pretty good stuff. I have only a casual interest in Gi Joe but this certainly works for me. It has a good pace and sketches in the characters just enough to make them distinctive. The mechanical design is quite nice as well - I do like the redesigned USS Flagg, it is quite distinctive externally whilst still looking like sensible (the inside is a little bit dafter, but in a good way).
Not bad at all, if it can keep that quality going it'll be a pretty good production.

You can find links to parts 6-8 now on Ellis' site. It's good stuff.
Dear Hasbro, please pay him whatever he wants to write a Transformers show. That is all.

Just watched the first ep - damn does it move fast, and in ways I wasn't expecting from what I knew of GI Joe (Ellis clearly isn't bothered about how long a character has been around). This is the sort of BAM-BAM-BAM fast escalation of threats that Bendis said Secret Invasion was meant to do, only working.
I bet the live-action film won't be this good!

Part 4 - the Joes come off as a genuinely competent and cool bunch of dudes. Pity Cobra comes off as better! Boy is this new Commander a scary bastard.

Part 6 - and here's the violence! Very slick, fast, and well-planned stuff. Zartan manages to be intimidating without saying a word.

Part 7 - Tunnel Rat's cunning plan is pretty damn impressive. The quite realistic way it cocks up was a surprise though, especially followed by Destro's trap - still, if it was too easy this wouldn't last ten eps!

This rendition of Cobra Commander is rather good. I do like the fact that it doesn't completely invalidate previous versions of the character. His "I used to pretend to be stupid because it was useful" speech is rather nice.
Someone cuff Ellis to his keyboard and make him write Transformers.

Brilliant! I note the characters (except baddies) have stopped dying after the look-the-stakes-are-high bit in part 1... EDIT: Added spoiler tab - Ralph

I rather liked it!
I wasn't as blown away by some people, but I think part of the joy here is watching beloved childhood characters back in action and not acting like idiots. The plot was a bit disjointed to me. Sure the Snake Eyes bit was probably the best but it didn't really fit in with anything else. But for what it was, it was great.
Also I liked how the Cobra agents were set up like 'boss fights' in computer games. The Joes had to get past a level of generic troops before a 'big' fight with the 'names'.

I do like how Ellis is not averse to making reference to some fairly obscure real-world stuff and extrapolating from it. The high altitude balloon experiment referenced in episode seven - that's real.
I also notice that someone on the design team for Resolute has done a reasonable amount of research. Rather than just toting generic cartoon weapons the Joes and Cobra both seem to be equipped with a fair amount of stuff that is recogniseable as real-world firearms, (Duke and Scarlett's FN SCAR's, the Tavor that Destro is toting - trust an arms dealer to opt for Israeli products.. :-) )
I also think that the voice cast are doing a fairly good job too. I quite like the Duke/Scarlett interaction, the two actors are both playing it quite well I thought.
Edit: I do like the plan to deal with the Stratelite network. Nice use of techno-nonsense indeed.
