I smell something fishy going on from the Royal Mail side of the fence.

The uppity little gobshite at the local depot would have tasted the back of my hairy hand if not for the perspex window.
Apparently the sack of 60+ Hubrises I submitted wasn't processed properly and is currently "not showing *chew* on my *chew* computer *chew* screen."
We use a lot of Mailsort at work so our account manager is coming to see me tomorrow at 11 to see what can be done.

The wonders of the postal service.....
Between this and them not delivering our mail at work until four in the afternoon somedays I do start to wonder if we weren't better off with the Pony Express. At least all they promised to do was to _try_ to deliver a letter.

I harbour sinister thoughts towards Royal Mail on this day. How can they lose a bag of 60 magazines?

Just had the meeting.
A thoroughly nice chap who was very apologetic has authorised a refund of all the postage and money back to cover the cost of reprinting everything plus a nominal compensation amount for inconvenience (not much but puts enough in the kitty for a free special limited edition of Hubris down the line).
Every cloud, and all that.
Apparently there's been some "staffing issues" at the depot and I am not the only case this has happened to. So back to square one. There will thus be an official delay for which I apologise. And this time I am just going use normal stamps and not try and be smart with all this Mailsort malarky.

I had ways of making him talk.
One of which (which always works), is to take my glasses off and start cleaning the lenses, and before I put them back on I look right into his eyes with a steely glare that reveals the soulless malevolence behind them and that the chill that runs up his spine is a warning that evil is near. And then I smile warmly once the glasses are back on, letting the colour flush my cheeks again, and he realises that he's died a little inside.

Blimey. But do you not think it might be the fact you have an actual account and are therefore more valuable than the average 5-letters-a-year-plus-some-christmas-cards everyman that turned the trick?

Just a quick heads up to existing subscribers... Hubris 10 will begin* shipping today.
Keep an eye on your letterboxes!
(Not too close, though, the corners of envelopes can be dangerous.)
*I say "begin" as there are loads and loads to envelope up and seal and I am but one man (alone...)

Excellent news! I look forward to seeing it in due course. I haven't finished reading "The Barricade" and now I know I have more reading material to look forward to. Brilliant! *I say "begin" as there are loads and loads to envelope up and seal and I am but one man (alone...) But as Knight Rider told us, one man can make a difference. Karl
