What alternative modes have yet to be used in Transformers that you would like to see? What kind of character (new or old) would it suit? What name would you give it? What action features would such a mode grant its user?

There were Rocklords. It would be enough for Hasbro to just bring them into the TF mythos. Also - in Inhumanoids - there were the rock people who had more granicular transformations than the smoothe rock lords. So we've at least had transforming rock robots as well as... well - literally transforming ROCKS that we rock people instead of robots... Speaking of which - I always loved Inhumanoids. Best toy line ever in terms of non-human characters. I loved the trees, the rocks and the beasts - particularly the boney one...err...sorry...minor off topic there Pete

There were transforming rocks in He-Man, too. Who can forget Stonedar and Rokkon?

I guess they probably did WWII planes and stuff in that GI Joe crossover series that I never read. I like to wonder what TFs might have disguised themselves as if they had landed further back in history, say, the Middle Ages.
What about Transformers castles, siege engines and sailing ships?
There's a story to be told there, I'm sure.

I guess they probably did WWII planes and stuff in that GI Joe crossover series that I never read. Martin They did indeed. Including a couple of unexpectedly obscure altmodes into the bargain. For me I would like to see a few more non-Continental US alt-modes. Things like Autobots who turn into a Ford Fiesta or a Ka, Decepticons who turn into Gripen or Draken or something like that. I do like the idea of Transformers in the Middle Ages though. Perhaps they are the reason that people wrote "here there be monsters" on the edges of their maps.... (For some reason I have this vision of a Cityformer stomping about the Russian Steppes and being mistaken for Baba Yaga's hut.....) Karl

I recall Chris Ryall of IDW in an old Q&A on the boards there mentioning that a crusades themed series had been pitched but Hasbro turned it down due to the religious themes. I thought that was a damn shame. I would have paid money for that.

I think I would have been curious to see it. Like anything involving real history it has the potential to go badly wrong, but if it went right then it could be quite interesting.

I'd love to see Transformers crossovers that have established Transformers character's change in to famous film and TV show vehicles. The Batmobile would be a terrific start along with possibly K.I.T.T from Knight Rider and the A-Team van, among others. For further inspiration, just look back at some of Lew Stringer's classic Robo Capers with the Transformers that didn's make the grade. I'd love to see Busby, Lamphead and John! - Tony
