May be going to the rescue home for more cat cuddling this week. This time round I'll try not to wear black and something I don't mind getting caked in fur.

I am now in receipt of some all new James Roberts Transformers prose. The sun is shining and I've been basking in the heat after a good run in my new trainers. Life really is good.

Had to get one of my evil little fury bundles of joy (read; kitten) to the vets today, poor lil guy was hobbling around looking very sorry for himself. Fortunately it's only a sprain..

Went to work today, then finished work and discovered that it was another scorching day outside.

Phil, glad to hear you're getting sleep. Ralph, fantastic news about the job! Really excellent. Ken, have fun looking at kittens. Dez, glad your kitten isn't too seriously ill. Andy, congrats on the new Roberts piece!

Day 1 at job was fine, though my brain had shut down by about 2pm from sheer density of information. Apparently some press release is going out about how the company supported me and now I work for them but I'm taken nothing for granted about this opportunity being converted to a permanent post of some kind.
There were free ice lollies, which was cool.
The permanent job I went for, after passing the CV sift then online app I've made it to the phone interview stage. So that's organised for mid-day on Friday so I'll have to nip outside sharpish at lunchtime. If it goes no further fine, no harm done, but worth the effort.
By 5pm Friday, I expect to a puddle in a corner!

Cats footage being uploaded to Youtube. Not all were kittens but all were amusing characters.
Chris/Dez. I hope your kitty gets better soon.

I was in the loo doing a number two. Suddenly, as I got up to clean up, I was attacked by a deranged moth which made a bee-line for my pants. It was blooming annoying as I hopped about trying to clean my ass while this moth tried to get in my underwear. It was so persistant. I may have let out a girly yelp.

The kitten is now playing up to the fact he is getting a lot more fuss and attention than his sister. He limps when youre watching him, gets all close to you then tries to claw your face off with his "bad paw". Little faker.
Ken, big gratz!

For my birthday, I got some cash. After a think, I've ordered the Japanese versions of Classics Prime and Megatron and the upcoming TF manga book from HLJ. Hooray.

Don't forget to vote today, folks. It is the twentieth anniversary of Tiananmen Square today, the same Government is still in power in China and any commemoration or public mention or what happened on that day is forbidden/prevented. The students who died would have loved to be able to do what we have the freedom to do today.

Voted!
Hi sportfans! We're deffo in the "Why" stage of Piglet's development. But I had no idea the 'Whys' would be so, well, abrastract! For example: "Why is that tree brown?" "Why is today Thursday" "Why are you my Daddy?" "Why does Playgroup start at half 9?" "Why is too much shunshine (yes 'shun') bad?" "Why am I nearly 3?". Tough uns to answer!

I shan't be voting until this evening - not awake enough to vote on the way to work, so it will have to wait until I return to Planet Falkirk later on.
Not that any of the parties appear to care whether they get my vote, what with the total lack of campaigning. There are barely even any signs on the lampposts around my way, let alone campaign literature.

Martin Like in the last election, I registered for postal voting but received no voting card so could not vote. Again. Been too busy to chase it up. Next time I'll just go back to voting on foot. Postal voting is a farce. I'm not happy. If it wasn't for the media, I would literally have no idea elections were taking place. There has been no canavassing, no mail-shots, no posters anywhere. I don't know who is standing: no effort has been made -Ralph

I suspect that with donors tightening their belts in a recession, and deserting them due to the expenses malarkey, the parties are saving all their money for the general election... which may follow very soon indeed if Labour get absolutely shafted today. A few flyers through the letterbox, but no posters or sign-posts that I can spot in Cardiff. Unlike Ambleside in the Lake District last week, which had party signs everywhere, funnily enough. A guide to who's standing in today's elections.Martin

The only party throwing around leaflets and plastic signs round here were (ironically enough) the Green party

Just back from the polling station, AKA the village hall. The last time I was there, I was giving blood. No sugary tea and biscuits this time though.
We were canvassed something rotten, mainly by UKIP and the BNP. Most of their literature makes my skin crawl. It's like the tabloids, but less racist.

I'd have thought that would be relatively easy to explain, compared to "Why is today Thursday?" which I'm still struggling with and losing.
Why _is_ today Thursday?

The Roman Party. Ave! I was sorely tempted. Apparently the only candidate is a bus driver.
I've been doing well in my OU stuff, but have neglected this forum too much. It's got a new home page which I was well excited to see, well done graham!!

Well, I have voted and as is standard for elections around here by the time I went there was no-one there other than the folk manning the polling stations. There were no representatives of the parties even showing the flag.
I quite like the European elections, because at least this time I get the sense that my vote actually makes some sort of difference to the outcome. Something I don't tend to feel at the national or Scottish elections.
Apparently there has been a fair bit of coverage on the television, but as I haven't actually seen any broadcast televsion in something like a month I appear to have missed the only electioneering that took place.
As to why today is Thursday.... my distant ancestors would no doubt have said that it was because this was as good a day as any to be named after the god of smiting giants with hammers..... :-)
I could do with a magic hammer at the moment. I would tap myself on the head with it and hope that this helped me to remain unconcious past half-four in the morning when I have been waking up for the first time every day. I've generally been getting back to sleep but it hasn't been exactly restful.
I will be glad when my probationary period ends and I learn one way or another whether I'm going to have a job in a few weeks time.

As I shared on facebook:
My son has done something with my polling card (probably down the back of the TV with 2 dozen DVDs, a sippy cup and some lego that he stuck down there this morning). Since I no longer posses a driving licence and never have owned a passport that would have made it rather difficult for me to vote !
