Did anyone else catch this last night? From Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton (of The League of Gentlemen fame). It's good to see some black comedy back on the Beeb. They showed the second episode straight after via the Red Button. Episode one is up on the Iplayer the now. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00l9n18/Psychoville_Episode_1/Well worth watching, funny and unsettling in places. Andy

'fuck pig'
My digibox missed the last minute of it (Last thing I saw was the tele-kinetic dwarf blow up the telly) but I loved every second of it. I've missed the League so much, and it's great to have 50% of them back, and with a show that doesn't let its predecessor down.

"What about pasties?"
"NO PASTIES!"
Genius.

Watched it on the iPlayer, very evil and great fun, as has already been mentioned it's great to have some dark comedy back on TV. If the first episode is anything to go by, this could be even more fucked up than the League... Loved the tagline on Mr. Jelly's car - 'Keeps Kids Quiet'.

I hadn't even heard of it before and it was just starting in the background when I noticed the writing credits at the beginning. And before I knew it I was pressing the Red Button to watch the second episode! And then I realised, after the fact, that it was also in HD!

Dawn French's Bristolian accent isn't very good at all. She sounds more like from Somerset if anything West country. I've grabbed myself the first couple of episodes out of curiousity. So far have only seen the pilot and the end of an episode where characters were battling over an online auction. The beginning with the old Blackadder style letter-wring into a modern day post office setting was pretty good. Some really strange characters here with roles doubled from the same actors too. The one-armed clown is my favourite so far. I like a lot of the editing if anything, although I think credits at the end are a little hurtful on the eyes. Will watch ep 2 in a bit.

Not seen "League of Gentlemen" Ken ? All the roles (nearly) were played by three people, two of which are the driving force behind Psychoville. If you like this you'll like the LoG - DVDs are available and worth getting. The actor Sam Kisgart is credited as being in episode four Definitely having the DVD when it comes out. Loved the Softplay chase scene this week.

I've watched the League of Gentlemen and I just don't find it funny which is why I've steered clear of Psychoville.

Utterly brilliant episode this week - very much a homage to Hitchcock's 'Rope', taking place in one room and filmed in a continuous shot. Superbly written and played, it was the stand-out episode of the series so far and - in all honesty - the best thing I've seen on TV all year. If you missed it, go watch it on the iPlayer RIGHT NOW.

Well it was obvious - I wouldn't know about the publicity as I don't read TV guides.

They confirmed it over the weekend on ITV2. one off show for 2010 - then series 2 for 2011 - which they are currently writing.
Also stating that Psychoville is the Germany [or somewhere like that] rename for LOG series 1-3
