lol love continuity errors! That stuff doesn't usually bother me too much, or rather I don't look for it, but I always remembered the scene where a Decepticon forms a tripod structure from his shields and fires a cannon out the front and could never place who it was. It was only when I was on ebay yesterday buying the Voyager Mixmaster that I noticed one of the modes showed the same visual as that part of the movie but I knew Devastator was pulling down the pyramid at that point to find the device hidden in the tomb of the primes so didn't think it would be Mixmaster. Went back and watched it again and sure enough it was Mixmaster. So either they had no idea which character was meant to be where, which is possible given how many are in it at that point, or they just shot loads of scenes and threw them together any old way.

I thought it was well established that there were at least two sets of Constructicons in that film, what with Bumblebee killing that big red one (Rampage?) along with Ravage.

Rampage kept changing colour between shots so they just brought out 2 toys.

I thought the Constructicons were different guys to Devastator, who like the toy didn't have individual robot modes, and was just made up of a collection of vehicles that happen to be identical to other Decepticon's alt modes (including the guy who Optimus Prime murders in cold blood at the start of the film).
They did a poor job of showing it!

All the Decepticons who came to Earth just happened to have a small set of preformed alt modes - while the match up team who we see Devie-out are on Earth before hand.

I was on ebay yesterday buying the Voyager Mixmaster I am so, so sorry Deepest Sympathy. You end up with the repaint Voyager Mixmaster when you get the Hoist that was in the 2 pack. You look at Mixmaster and get it on eBay PDQ.

I found a junker Mixmaster from home the other week. Literally took me a good ten minutes to work out if it was missing bits or if it was complete. Even proper ones look like a horrible horrible mess.

I was on ebay yesterday buying the Voyager Mixmaster I am so, so sorry Like a lot of the toys I buy, it'll be getting displayed in one mode and probably left like that so I won't get to find out how terrible a toy it is. I like his alt mode and plan to put together a utilities section with mixmaster, scavenger, demolishor, long haul, grappel, hot spot etc.

Seriously, I have Mixmaster in front of me now with instructions. Spent the weekend trying to get him to go from robot to vehicle. I don't think it's actually possible!!

I do message a lot of the sellers and ask for it to be sent in a certain mode if I plan to display it in that mode. Slightly cheeky of me but most are cool with it. Having said that, I didn't get a chance to do it with Mixmaster so fingers crossed.

But wouldn't you want to transform it at least once? -Ralph It depends how easy/complicated/fiddly it is. Generally I will do it once or twice when I'm getting round to displaying them properly, or buy a second one and do dual display, but if it's something that it's apparent will require instructions that I don't have then I very often just leave it. I've currently got the issue with ROTF Wheelie where it was sent in bot mode but I want it in alt mode. Once I get round to clearing enough space I'll dig out instructions online.

According to Wiki, the constructicons are either intended from the start to be limitless vehicon-like drones, or they were retconned by hasbro as such to explain the plotholes.

They've been doing it since the first movie. They created Grindor as an excuse for why Blackout showed up in the second one, after he was killed in the first one. (Which to be fair to bay, was probably more of an excuse to recycle and reuse a multi-million dollar cg model. But still thoughtless and shows little concept for continuity)
Other things, look at the end credits for speaking roles. "Wheelbot" for Demolishor. And there are a few like this. Bay didn't name anything beyond the absolute most main characters. And Devastator, and The Fallen are the only new decepticons in the movie to be named. The number of fucks bay doesn't give for this franchise are massive, and RotF is the biggest one.

They also accidentally named a Decepticon military vehicle as Devastator in the first movie.

That was Brawl wasn't it? I think that was a bit of a mess. We had the character in the UK comic solo story

Yep. Barricade was called Brawl in the concept work. Brawl was called Devastator then Demolishor and eventually went to print as Devastator with Bay not giving 2 shiny ones to how wrong it was.

I remember all of us round at Phils and failing miserably to transform him!
I feel Mixmaster is worse, but Prime was double the price which gives added misery.

I have the Nightwatch leader than I bought many moons ago that's still sitting in a twisted half-transformed freak version of Prime. Mrs Bazzas nephews like playing with it when they come up because it makes noises and I don't care if they break it.
