Was there anything at Auto Assembly that you were particularly tempted by but ultimately decided not to buy?
For me, it was Encore Omega Supreme and club Astrotrain. It's probably for the best that I didn't get those big boys as it would have been near-impossible to get them in the car.
Also, Music Label Rumble and Frenzy. I decided to pass in the hope that they were still on sale at the lower price on HLJ that they were a week or two ago. I just checked and they're discontinued. Boo!
Oh, and the auction art that I was outbid on.

Oh, plenty. Actionmaster Slicer, Vroom, Henkai Megatron, Thunderclash... the list goes on.
Probably lucky I didn't give in, I would be even poorer!

Encore Omega Supreme, Alternity Megatron, complete G2 Devastator and complete Chromedome all tempted me at various times. I only resisted because I had run out of cash and frankly had enough stuff already!

Henkei Inferno. My bro bought him so I thought I'd wait and see what it was like first. BW Airrazor. Someone beat me to her. BM Megavolt Megatron and Savage Noble. I'm still undecided about them TBH. Gregg Berger's audio book. I just ran out of money. Sketches and prints. As above.

Savage/Noble is horrid, Megabolt Megatron is really neat.

I hear Megabolt can work with Fort Max - if so that is so cool - although I doubt I will ever have enough cash to own both

I think with Savage Noble, it was a case of "Oooh, he was in the show!" *shiney, shiney*
Oh yeah, and I was also tempted with the Quintesson Judge and Executioner. Or Ghyrik, as I would have been calling it.

That was RiD Maximus, if it was the one at the same table as Fort.

I was sometimes tempted by Botcon Thunderclash but resisted. For the best, probably.

Star Saber and Victory Leo tempted me mightily, but fortunately they had sold long before temptation could overwhelm my better angels.

You couldn't have brought Victory Leo home in the same bag as Overlord! The thing would have been in tatters before we hit Crewe!
I figured I would have too much to carry home as it was so I didn't buy much at AA. Mickey and the Alternity figures tempted me, but they're awfully expensive for their size. I'll see what Ralph's Megatron is like before splurging.

It was Convoy I picked up. I was tempted by Megatron also but thought I'd see what Convoy is like first, considering the price-point on that line.

Whoops! It was Karl who picked up Megatron. Which means I get to see them both before I buy them! Whee! there was a fort max and grand maximus at auto assembly this year (i think it was grand) we should have got them both together Did anyone see what that Fort Max was priced at? Just *cough* curious... On an unrelated note, what does the Hub in general think is a reasonable price for a complete Fort, Grand and/or Brave Max at a UK convention? -Nick

The boxed Max went for £500.
Personally, I would not go above £200 for a complete Max, even though I still crave Fort and Grand. The one thing I would pay more for would be a MISB set of re-issue Predacons.

Damn! They've got the drop on me!
There's absolutely no way I can procure a Maximus for £200, even if the US dollar rate drops to 2007 levels. Ah well. I shall keep my eyes open anyway. There's always plenty about- not surprising at those prices, I guess.

I think my Grand max came in under 300. £200 for a complete Fort or grand Max seems hopeful. Maybe without a box.

To me, the mold isn't worth more than £200. I know Forts go for way more than that, but I'd feel uncomfortable paying more than that amount.
A Grand Max on the other hand...

Sorry. I meant loose. The box seems like an unnecessary extravagance with something that size, although it does seem to add a lot to the perceived value.

I was on the lookout for a Soundwave figure because I've never owned one and the value of having one TF with a few other TF's that transform and fit inside him is a novelty for me. I saw several reissues on one stall going for £30 a pop but I didn't get one because I my money was running low and I was unwilling to spend more than what I had taken with me.

But yes not really needed. It does have nice artwork though. Big artwork. Andy

I'd find it hard enough to display a Fort Max, let alone the box!

Incidentally, what were the Max's RRPs at the time they came out?
I remember getting my Brave Max direct from HLJ at the time in late 2000 for £63+S&H.
