Very, very tired.
Weekend in Carlisle on a Stag weekend. Much drink and japery with a bit of clay pigeon shooting and awesome weather.
Time to sleep for a day or so!

Managed to get online again after spending all of yesterday and all of this morning with a modem problem. I phoned up Virgin Media twice and none of their solutions could resolve the problem then my sister phoned them up and they managed to resolve it by telling her things they neglected to tell me on the phone. Their customer service line is something I wouldn't like to spend much time on anyway. First I got through to an answering machine where I had to press number to direct me to other parts of the answering service and then they 'generously' played me a bit of Hanson and then the Scissor Sisters before I got through to a human being!

Some diet changes required. Trousers are getting tight and I can feel the spare tire coming on so time to nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem.

I've had a fairly busy but domestic weekend all told. As a result of being unwell for the last three weeks, and down at AA the weekend before I had a house that was in desperate need to some serious cleaning. I spent most of the last two days getting the house back into something like some sort of order. Still a little bit to sort out but it is in much better shape than it was.
Came across some thing that I probably don't have any pressing need to be keeping in the process though - so I think another charity shop pile will be forming in due course.
I did manage to fit in a walk this morning. The trees that have been coming along next to the Falkirk Wheel have grown a great deal in recent months - they are now actually taller than me and are starting to resemble a shrunken woodland rather than a load of bushes with ambitions.
There seem to be a lot of squirrels about around here at the moment - more than I would normally see of a mornings walk, and they seem to be roaming further afield as well. I suspect that they are engaged in the last minute assembly of supply caches before the coming of winter.

Pilglet's first day at school tmw. Yeah, it's only pre-school/nursery school. But it's the first time she's gunna be out of our immediate infulence. Piglet can't wait. Her teachers did a home visit last week, showing her photos of the pets that they have, telling her 'bout all the game and activities they have etc. And ofcourse me and the Mrs have been building this up for some time. So Piglet's all full of excitement. But, although we're pleased she's pleased, this is the first real moment when you think to yourself "she's not a baby anymore, she's a child." Noooooo! She can't be a child yet!!!!! Damn they grow up fast.

It won't be long now until she brings home her first boyfriend, and you'll have to "talk" with him, and she'll rebel and get something pierced. It all starts at nursery school, in the sandbox...

What about Furman and Piglet?
(Hmmm, that could be the name of a really crap crime-fighting duo... stand back, Batman and Robin, and make way for Furman and Piglet!)
