Oh we know Groundshaker was meant to have panels both sides, there's pictures on the 89 catalogues which show it, third ramp attachment using it and a turntable on the helipad!

The instructions say no: The box art also says no, but colours the lower left-hand side red to match the right. Martin

Woah, Martin already on the case with the art.
I don't think that's just recoloured, it's an inset piece of plastic with a lip round the edge.

The only Groundshakers I've had were junkers which just fell apart. Is a non-junker one a solid base?

Also featured in the box art (which presumably would have come from that prototype). No, the box art doesn't have the left panel, but colours the lower bit red to fool you into thinking it does. Martin

Groundshaker is pretty solid aye, one of the better bases IMO

I believe Martin over Phil. -Ralph Even though my catalogue image shows the part in place, with an extra ramp attached that you can't use with the production Groundshaker?

Next you'll say you can't see the spinning turntable and the mechanism used to make it go round.
Or the different ramp connector design!

Now I feel robbed.

Compare and contrast Green Slag yesterday, as well as a Groundshaker base without any accessories as I just needed the red flappy bit, Shattered Glass Prime and Chromia, who honestly was not worth all the fuss! Speaking on Groundshaker and red panels .... Would it be possible to inverse the red panel on the right, looking from the front, so it fitted into the empty left? I have money for such a piece! EDIT: Adds photo: Oh we know Groundshaker was meant to have panels both sides, there's pictures on the 89 catalogues which show it, third ramp attachment using it and a turntable on the helipad!

hmm, so a plastic canopy on the smaller ship, but what's different on Countdown apart from some plastic colour changes?

with regards to scanning it phil, the printing isnt a problem at all, but 3D scanning is another issue altogether, i dont own a scanner at all and the software is way more complex then the 3d printing one generally.

And are there some filler panels that didn't make it to production or is that just a change of colours?

Oh duh of course the rocket is different. The production one is a lot mightier!!

Lots of little things. The pop out guns on the tower at the back aren't on the production version. The panels on the wings that lead away from that are different and the claw piece is in a different place. There's no ramp leading up to the platform that plugs into the tower. Little things like that.

There looks like there could be a small turntable there too, red disc on the tower which is all but obstructed from view on the folded down base - the black outline is to the right of the red lump behind the chair

I've only ever interacted with any of these Micromaster bases by looking at these catalogue pictures. And now it turns out... they're all lies? My world is shaken.
