Are you getting the Alliance/Defiance Prequel comics from IDW? I am Waiting For The Trade on these, but I spotted the cover for issue 4 and I think it's awesome. I wouldn't class this as a spoiler but, just in case; It's Optimus fighting Megatron www.joshnizzi.com/tf_destiny_defiance_4.html

I've like Josh Nizzi's cover art so far.

The Nizzi covers are indeed tops. I'm not bothering with the IDW movie comics personally. I find them rather ponderous in comparison to the bright and breezy Titan movie comics.

I do like that cover. It has a nice energy to it. The lighting work is rather good too.

Read the trade of Defiance. Really enjoyed it. Nicely dense read (proving once again 4 issues is the better length for TF minis), giving the movie verse a sense of mystery and otherworldness that adds a lot to it. A lot happens over a period of time as we see how the war on Cybertron kicked off, which is good to see. Some of the dialogue reminded me of the first issue of Marvel TF: has that more formal style to it. Even Dan Khanna puts in an above average shift.
Worth a look. I'd like to see more stories set around that period.

The comic adaptation is a decent read. Furman cuts the crude comedy elements, keeps some essential plot explanations and almost wrings a coherant story from it. Jon Davis-Hunt (on art for three quarters of it) puts in a good shift too. Milne's segment is ok. Yeah it would have been nice to have one artist on the booK, but it was originally serialised as a 22-page weekly so fair enough.
I enjoyed it so much more than the movie that it's almost not funny!

Ahh, didn't realise Furman was writing this. Might have a look at it some point now.

It's a nice evening. I'll probably sit outside and read the adaptation.
I enjoyed both Alliance and Defiance. The unfortunate thing is that you really need to read Defiance to properly understand the full nature of the relationship between Megatron and The Fallen. Without it, Megatron comes across in the film as merely a lackey of The Fallen, which doesn't make sense after the first film.
Edit: Sorry, I'm starting to sound like a broken record. How many threads have I said that in now?

I enjoyed it so much more than the movie that it's almost not funny! I enjoyed the comic more than the film, too. I like it that Furman was able to fit in "it never ends" . That gave me a smile.

Yes. That raised a quiet chuckle.
Now read Alliance. Can't say it did much for me. Felt hampered by not being able to do much.

Fair point. All three series were better than the film, though. I ordered the prequel novel from Amazon yesterday, which I'm looking forward to reading.

I would agree that all the tie-in comics are leagues ahead of the film in quality. Even the disposable pulpy tosh prequel novel was better.
