One wonders if Hasbro UK will realise they distrubute the toy tie-in range and and have the opportunity to MAKE LOTS OF MONEY.

I'm surprised that Transformers has taken more in one weekend than Hannah Montana has taken in eight weeks. I'd have thought HM would have done better than that.

TF has perhaps more of a cross generational appeal.

True, but Hannah Montana is supposed to be the in thing right now. Just look in a toy shop. Normally, it's the boys' properties that have the most merchandise, but you'll probably find that Hannah Montana has the biggest section at the moment.

Oh indeed, but the subset of the population that are likely to want to see a Hannah Montana film is likely to be restricted to a fairly narrow demographic - whereas the subset of the population that would be tempted to go and see an action movie is, I would have thought, likely to be significantly broader and is more likely to take in more of the "I want to go to the cinema, whats on?" crowd. So the latter is likely to get more bums on seats. (At least, I would expect)
