I've had to go down to wearing just two pairs of socks.

No wonder you were sweating earlier.

I went down to two pairs of socks before boiling an egg.

Good to know. Oddly enough earlier today I did wonder how many pairs you were wearing at the moment. However I would suggest if you're hot that one pair would be enough.

Don't be daft. We only go to one pair in extreme emergencies.

New rule for Ralph: heat may only be complained of if wearing one or less pairs of socks.

I endorse this rule.

Perhaps this was the right week to ask what sock level Ralph is currently at, however I'm now wondering with a week of storms forecast what the UK is going to look like in seven days time.

I am Sock Level One. -Ralph Is that your standard as in three pairs or is sock level one meaning only the one pair? I lose track of Def-Con Footwear

Sock Level One means one pair of socks has been deployed.

I have been deploying a bag of frozen peas on my feet too, but that is to help my tendons.

The cold is transmitted to the tendons.

Very rainy and windy here. Perfect time to slip out for a haircut - the barbers was empty. First haircut since 2019!

Nice enough this morning but tipping it down now. The small leak between the extension and the main house has re-emerged. Will get that properly plugged once the roofer comes for the chimney and loft.

I was out in it for an intended 18 mile run - only managed a half marathon. Suffering today for it, due to the cold, wet and inconsiderate pricks in cars deliberately soaking me further I never really warmed up so everything is stiff and achy and my left knee is quite, quite sore.

No snow here, which is good really as I have to go outside and replace two fence panels broken in the wind in a minute.
I do love the people next door, but at the moment they can see right into my kitchen!
