First storm was good. Weather cleared then an even better second storm suddenly appeared. Stood under a tree. Great fun.

We had this in the middle of the night two days ago. 3am and the garden kept lighting up like midday with some cracking booms.

Snow, wind, proper time wars.
They closed the line between Newcastle and Scotland last night.
In other news one of our number is in Newcastle for the weekend in a Vodka Ditch on TFN Business. I suspect he's not going home soon.

No snow here, although the weather changes on a whim. Ten minutes ago I needed the lights on in my flat, now it's blazing sunshine.

Very calm here. I even went for my run after work and it was the most pleasant evening run for a while. Clear skies, barely any wind, mild, no rain.

Ironically, today is an INSET day for me so the kids were never going to be in school anyway, but most schools seem to have closed around here. I'm working at home.
I do feel the north/south divide with this. My sister lives in a remote village up in Northumberland and was without power for well over a week in the last big storm, then had another few days without it when the next one showed up. Yet there was only reaction to that in the media afterwards about how terrible it all was. This time, down in the south, everyone's being made to panic and the media has gone mental about bracing for the impact. It does feel to me again that the closer you are to the home counties, the more important events seem to be deemed.
