Does Kraang Subprime seem to anyone else to be a wholly new concept/character, or an update/reimagining of Krang?
I would think he's new, but geeze, Gilbert Gotfried seems like such a perfect choice for an update, combined with that he behaves a little bit more like Krang.

An update for sure. He's a bit of a warlord indeed.

Kraang Subprime was fantastic. I hope that isn't the last we see from them.

I don't think it will be. When he was revealed in the invasion (avoiding spoilers), it seemed like they killed him then, too. I think these seemingly deadly ends, only to turn up later would be really great comedy.

Nickelodeon did a Press Release last week saying the Turtles will return to Dimension-X in Season 4. Perhaps they will be spending more time there and bumping into some characters along the way.

Two 'space' characters will be involved with season 4. One of them had a big role during the red sky era of Fred Wolf TMNT.

Man, one of the stupidest things I've ever done was write off the 2003 series. The first handful of episodes were outright painful, but this series got soooo much better after I gave up on it.
And it did so much justice to the Usagi Yojimbo characters.

Happy to report that after seeing the first episode of season 4, a certain UK sci-fi alum is stealing the show as the newest addition to the cast.

Nickelodeon stretches a season of TMNT out across the entire year so that the season finale and season premiers are back to back. This results in looooong, frustrating, and ratings killing hiatuses between episodes.
As I've talked about elsewhere in this thread, I cannot begin to really discribe how whack CW, Nick, and Disney are when if comes to scheduling. (I am so SICK of "Steven Bombs." JUST SHOW THE DAMNED SHOW INSTEAD OF HORDING THEM!)

(I am so SICK of "Steven Bombs." JUST SHOW THE DAMNED SHOW INSTEAD OF HORDING THEM!) I actually rather like the bomb format. 5 eps in a week every 5 weeks is the same as 5 eps over 5 weeks. I like the format where each show gets a new ep every day and then the next week its a different show's turn, it make it feel like more of an event.

Haven't seen an episode in ages, but decided to check out the crossover on the nick website. I liked the approach of having characters change design depending on what dimension they were in, although the 2D designs looked off at times and had flat colouring. Also why didn't the designs change when they travelled to the Mirage universe? So Krang is a Kraang banished to the old cartoon universe? I'm no expert on that show, but I'm fairly sure that doesn't jive with what was established there. Fun at times, but it felt like a short retread of Turtles Forever.

Went to see Out of the Shadows this Monday gone.
Enjoyed it a lot. Not a brilliant film, but far better than the previous.

Not out here until tomorrow.
But so far it seems like they listened to every criticism about the first one, and acted appropriately. Particularly with Shredder.

Saw it last night. It's not without some issues (a lot of plot elements seemed to be pointless), but loads of fun. I think for what it is, it's every bit as good as the first one, and in some ways better.
But before getting too critical about some of the elements that didn't work for me, it's important to remember than it's a kids movie, and it does really great in that regard.
Stephen Amell was great. And I love that they continue to draw upon every single iteration on TMNT as their source of inspiration. While unlike the first, this draws most heavily on the cartoon, there's still a ton here that's informed from other sources.
And I godda say, I loved Rocksteady and Bebop. Their friendship was wonderful.

So nicktoons has been running a marathon of Tales of the TMNT today, and I already miss this show soooo much.
Like... I'm all for occasional reboots to introduce new concepts and new blood to revive a franchise, but I feel like this series still had a lot of steam left in it, and a lot of stories left to tell. And with the Tales rebrand, it opened up even further for stories that don't fit in continuity (like the Carmageddon arc).

Like... it's easy to forget how much love and attention to detail went into this show. Dinosaurs were stylized, but reasonably realistically accurate (that never happens in cartoons). They took from every conceivable source... the old cartoon, the last cartoon, the original comics, the archie comics, the toyline, the original NES game, the arcade games. And it managed to do all that, while being it's own unique take, as well as acknowledging all other series as canon.
And the TotTMNT 80s arc was just magnificent. It was everything that Turtles Forever tried to be. It poked good natured fun at the original, without being inauthentic to it, and without feeling like it was making fun of, while pushing how great the current are. (I know that's not the intent of Turtles Forever, but it *is* how it reads until they get to the comic turtles)
I'm going to miss this show as badly as I miss Transformers Animated.
I know it won't happen, but here's hoping Netflix or someone gets this team together to make an Usagi Yojimbo series.

2k12 TMNT was just perfect. I know I am going to like the new show, but not as much as this. I really thought the Mutant Apocalypse arc was a brilliant way to end the show.
I'm sure interest in Usagi will crop up again. There was supposed to be another Usagi story in Season 5 but it was among the 6 episodes cut out of production order.
