DOCTOR WHO AND THE KRIKKETMEN is a book I read for free. Yay for libraries.
Dear modern authors using a famous deceased author's material: DO NOT TRY TO WRITE IN THEIR STYLE. This is a NO-WIN SCENARIO. Repeat: this is a NO-WIN SCENARIO. Just write in your own style and let the deceased author's material pop through naturally. Thankyou.

Only one Target Book was to be found in Dunfermline.
Rose by Russell T Davies.
Fantastic, I enjoyed the back story given to certain characters who are blink and you will miss them in the episode and it was done in the Target fashion.

The four new Target novelisations are here and plugged into the reading pile. I hate to be That Guy but the spine for Rose does not match! The DW logo is printed too far down compared to the others aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh.

Interview with RTD and the Moff about Target Rose/Day:
Really liked both of these. Enjoyed all four of the new ones actually although Christmas Invasion/Twice Upon a Time are more straightforward adaptations.

The Target edition of City of Death is an abridged version. Mad decision, especially when the original COD full length novel is still in print!

I think they're aimed at different markets aren't they? A Target copy of City of Death as it was wouldn't be in the spirit of the series. It'd be bigger than the BUMPER EDITION Fury from the Deep for a start, and we can't have that.

Oh I understand but I can't help but think a new version written from the ground up as intended for the Target imprint would make more sense rather than hacking big chunks out of an existing novel. I just can't see who this pleases. It's why I am skipping the Target version.

It already is. I don't have any of the Target re-issues. I need to rectify that at some point.

This thread has nagged me all week. I feel a trip into the archive this weekend to catalogue my own target collection coming on. I fear it has big holes.

I know #15.....
At which point I reached for the Target book!
#23 I should have got.
Would not have got #6 in a million years.
#12 is Bugging me!
#18 is wrong. so is #21.

Half way through cataloguing my Target novels. Which is the Doctor's fault. Quite nervous currently to find out which I don't own. Not looking good. My memory has deceived me here.
Of course the question now is, how do you order them? Story order, publication order or by target novel number?

Ah ha! A counter!
I would say whoever numbered the books made a massive mistake doing it alphabetically because it makes absolutely no sense. They should have been numbered in publication order because that's what came after. Totally stupid decision.
As such, Target number order doesn't hold any value. It's not a sensible referencing system.

24 missing from the numbered run of 156 books.
Unacceptable! Pretty sure some of these I have owned, so they may be in another box somewhere.
