Located a second hand bookshop in Grosmont. Things looked promising when I spotted a VHS of Caves of Androzani on top of a bookcase full of sci-fi books but... not a single Target novel. Just dozens of Star Trek books.

No idea. Star Trek is a closed book to me. Ha. I'm unlikely to be back that way on this holiday so I wouldn't be able to procure any for the collective anyway.
Just think yourself lucky that I didn't buy the Space Precinct novel I idly considered true friending you with for a moment.

Whitby is so far unyielding of second hand bookshops. Disappointing.

At the recent comic mart - picked up a couple of Doctor Who books and made sure that young Nick went away with some belters as well. I snagged the McGann movie novelisation and the Eight Doctors, as well as a new Alien Bodies as mine is quite beaten up and Short Trips. Nick went away with Unnatural History, Interference Books 1 and 2 and The Infinity Doctors.

This is a wonderful thing. As a synopsis it is marvelous.(The comment about things being "manipulated by an unseen hand" got a genuine out-loud laugh from me). Karl

Very nice copy of The Mind of Evil arrived today to fill another hole. Another parcel containing The Time Meddler and The Time Monster is trapped at the PO. With the latter I'll be Pertwee complete. That'll be Docs 3, 4 and 5 ticked off. Closing in on 1. Just found this while searching for one of my old posts - those are the exact three Target books I read this past week! (and in that order, too)

It's James Goss again though, Ralph. You've disliked all his other archive raiding projects so far. Prepare for disappointment!

I thought his version of CITY OF DEATH was fab and have liked his original stories. It's just his other 4th Doc novelisations I disliked...
...and this is the legendary SCRATCHMAN!!! I can't say no! Take my money, BBC! Twice!
Amazed BF didn't touch it in their Lost Stories series. They made audios based off of memories or a few paragraphs! This had a full script!!!

That is fishy if you ask me. More like they've decided to play down Goss's involvement to sell the book on Baker's name alone.

But what was the point of hiding the truth in the first place? What purpose does it serve?

Probably so they can get a sales boost at a later date, as Tom's name will shift more units as a result.
Hiding him till now, could be a marketing thing - or wanting to see if the demand for the story was actually there without it having Tom's name attached which wouldn't give you a true reflection.
