Edward Fox's 'The Day of the Jackal' tonight at 6.15 on Sony Movies Classic. That's my evening sorted.

'Apollo 11' on Netflix. Missed it at the cinema as it was a rather limited release. No narrator and relies on stunningly restored film and audio of the time to tell the story. Very good though viewers who don't know much about the mission may find it lacks some detail.
Stunning to look at. I had no idea there was secondary footage of Armstrong's first steps.

Jonathan is watching Fire & Ice with Helen Czerski. I always find programs she presents dis-concerting as she looks as she looks, and sounds, just like someone I used to know and haven't seen in donkey's years!

It's amazing how old crap films are enjoyable and fun, but modern ones... aren't. We watched the exciting thrillfest that is Skyscraper last night. It was so exciting I fell asleep before the end. However, having seen both The Towering Inferno and Die Hard, I'm pretty sure I know where it was going.

Just caught sight of match of the day. Are the BBC really dubbing on fake crowd noises to create atmosphere? That is so weird.

I will be taking advantage of my phone provider's 'Disney Plus free for 6 months' promo offer (I assume their previous 'get it for £4 a month' offer did not entice enough punters). If it's not for me, I'll just cancel it when it starts charging.
Soon I will be watching Taggart.

Finally realised Legend of Korra is on Prime.
Only a few episodes in, not quite grabbed me the way Avatar did but its not bad.

Taggart is not on Disney Plus in England. Very few TV shows and I've seen most of the films. It's fine for a temporary freebie but I can't see myself keeping it when the offer ends. Not a lot to watch on it compares to Netflix or Prime or Now TV. -Ralph

I paid £60 for the year, but I havent had to pay for my unlimited card for 4 months so thats more than covered it. Having most of the Disney Classics on hand is great as I dont have a lot of them post VHS and a few at all. I've got all the MCU apart from Carter season 2 so its convenient but not essential. And Ive got most of the Star Wars I want so also not essential. Theres a fantastic back log of cartoons on there. New Ductales and Tangled are both well worth watching. I'm sure theres more , but the biggest problem with Disney+ is finding stuff. Unless you know something is on there its quite hard to stumble across it because the same stuff keeps being promoted. The exclusives are a big draw, but so far theres only Mandolarian and Clone Wars. Both are fantastic, but its not a lot of new content. Hamilton is great Im sure but Ive suddenly become a little hesitant about watching it.

There was a bit to much Potter inspired magical sports going on, but that didnt last long. For a show thats nearly a decade old this show is bang on topic for 2020. Right in on BLM and defund the Police. Also JK Simmons. Who is convincingly playing the middle age son of Aang. A character last seen as like a 13 year old kid.

Still cracking, and such an abrupt ending.
There's a director's commentary which I shall watch later in the week.

90's X-Men on Disney Plus. Did it always have such flat and tinny sound design or are the masters Disney are using a bit duff?
I wasn't keen on the show back in the day and bailed early but viewed now it has a certain cheesy charm to it.

Been watching 60's Thor the last couple of nights, just a few eps at a time.
It does take a few eps to find it's feet in terms of the voice cast getting the tone just right. Still an absolute delight to watch.

CURSED on Netlix. An origin series for the young lass who later becomes the Lady of The Lake. It's an absolute scream, especially when chaps turn up and lean into the camera while revealing that they are...MERLIN...or ARTHUR.
Much guffaws when the lass goes to catch a boat Gawain was on it but misses it by a day. Not his turn to leer into the camera and reveal his name yet then.
Peter Mullen turns up doing the usual Peter Mullen character.
It's hilarious.

Not meant to be a comedy. It's like the BBC Merlin show but this time it's about young lady of the lake. She even has a sidekick.
"SHE'S A WITCH!!!" cry folk a lot.
