I'm starting to get a fair bit pissed off with the new mouse I brought for my computer yesterday. As some of you may recall my old mouse kept freezing up about every five to ten seconds and it turned a simple two minute job into a ten minute one. So yesterday I went out and brought a new one that was dirt cheap and I wished I had invested in a more pricey one now. This new mouse is hopelessly unresponsive. It doesn't drag across the mousemat but rather scratches along it and I have to pick the mouse up to move the cursor to certain parts of the screen because it doesn't respond to being moved too far in any direction from its starting position when the computer is turned on. Furthermore, the mouse buttons don't work half the time. I have to click on the buttons about six or seven times just for it to respond to a single mouse click. I think I may consider reverting back to my old mouse if this keeps on happening.

This is the BEST post I've ever read on the Hub! Nick for World President I say! I though the same thing. It's like Nicks brain is connected directly to the internet. I want the live feed!

I have just finished packing Ralph a MYSTERY BOX to post off. What will be in it? Bubblewrap? A lettuce? An empty can of soup? WHO KNOWS! BETS ARE ON!!! I reckon it's a large inflatable wilderbeast!

Insanely important meeting with new client went surprisingly well today. So well we were in the conference room for two solid hours, then spent another good hour pissing around their labs, drooling over the insane number of Electron Microscopes they have (I counted at least six). And an Atomic Force Microscope. I kinda want to work there now. But hey, at least we'll be getting business from them.

Yesterday was one of those wonderful days when things just clicked into place work-wise. A project that I have been worrying away at since Christmas trying to find some sense and order in has suddenely started to take shape. Things just went my way from about ten-thirty onwards.
It is pretty much the first good day I have had at work since the beginning of January. I suspect that this feeling won't last, but it is nice whilst I have it.

Got back not long ago from a busy day at the swamp. Two very VERY lucky young men and their not as lucky car. Bed now. No doubt I'll be woken by a crazy small person in the morning!

I did lots today to try to relax. Walk for a walk, did some food shopping, listened to podcasts, visited a park, read some comics, went to the cinema. But could I stop worrying about work? Nope. Balls. I'm sure any of you who have ever been on a probationary period with a new employer can relate. It finally occured to me in the small hours that's why I haven't had a full night's sleep since I moved to the Burger.

Yeah, probationary periods can be pretty stressful things.
I started off the day with a lie-in - I didn't actually get up until twenty past nine. I wandered into town in search of a set of good saucepans to replace my thoroughly ruined ones. Didn't actually have a great deal of luck in finding what I was looking for. However, I did manage to acquire a replacement for the steamer that I exploded a couple of weeks ago, so that will tide me over until I can get into a larger town to try and get a set of saucepans with decent handles - I don't want any of this metal handled nonsense, I want something with a handle that isn't going to wind up red-hot when I am finished cooking.
I did a little bit of pottering around the house this afternoon and then sat down to watch a Jackie Chan film (always good for lifting my mood). I have been able to squeeze in a bit of reading too.
All told I've had a pretty good weekend.

I have a driving theory test booked for Thursday morning. I might try to chicken out and put it back, since I'm not consistantly passing the mock tests. Also it is 31 bleeding quid!! Screw driving! Screw it!

I'm not too fond of learning to drive myself due to the price of the tests and all of the other taxes etc that comes with owning a car. I had thought though that I might learn to ride a motorbike at some point as they are much cheaper to run.

I hate driving and have no wish whatsoever to own a car, but I think it may be useful for future prospects. I did a load of lesseons last year though knocked it on the head when I moved. Planning on picking it up again in the Spring: I may as well see it through. Otherwise the last few hundred quid were a complete waste.
