Just saw the headline and newspeice at TFW2005.com in regards to a rumour that Animated may end after season 3. Although it isn't definite, people are talking about the possibility of it.
Whether the show is ending or isn't, do you think 3 seasons is a long enough run for Animated?

Just saw that and I'm devastated if it's true. Animated has quickly become my favourite TF series, better than G1, even better than Beast Wars.
Hope it's untrue.

I can see Hasbro wanting to keep things fresh so wouldn't be TOO surprised, but I love Animated dearly, and it seems to be doing well - at least over the pond!

How many is in series 3? we've only had the first 29 [that isnt a very round number seeing US normally go in 13 lots]

Yes but the first three eps were effectively a stand alone as opposed to the regular length of series.

At first I didn't believe it, but the sheer amount of official 'no comments' is worrying me

Going by how short other Transformers shows have run for I would'nt be surprised. It would be a shame though, as Animated was more than just a design novelty. That show did a lot right IMO. I'm curious as to what's next. I'm hoping its not another translated japanimation with generic characters.

Are there any viewing statistics published anywhere? Does Animated get more viewers than, say, Cybertron did?
Was Animated profitable enough to warrant another "homegrown" series instead of an import?
Did it get enough kids in to buy the toys?
Maybe, once Transformers 3: The Rise of Unicron is over and done with in 2011 there'll be a live-action TF television series?

Beast Wars lasted a long time - & even got Japan to make cartoon following on from it. This has never happened before [seeing G1 was all Japan/US] Then Japan never did anything with G2 redone stuff did they?
Would be nice to see a series 4 [more than 3 of them for a change - Headmasters rebirth]. But they should pace it better. There does seem to be parts where not much is happening then you get the rush at the end. X-men had a nice pacing with the whole series arcs while Spiderman [both 1990 series here] did slow down with the series arcs.

If it just has 3 seasons that's still a good run for a toy tie-in cartoon and a respectable episode count.

If the show ends after three, it would have felt like (for me anyway) that it had a short run, since the first and second seasons were practically fused together as one.
A live action show is a possibility since CGI is becoming more and more affordable for TV. I can't see the human cast from the movie reprising thier roles though.

Arse fucking buggery on stilts, TFW2005 has just confirmed that it will indeed finish after season 3, with the death of a character. There's a spoiler on the site, but I'm staying away from it.
Really pissed off about this news, bigtime.

Well I'm not going to read the spoiler but that is really annoying that it's ending after season 3. If the show ends after three, it would have felt like (for me anyway) that it had a short run, since the first and second seasons were practically fused together as one. It doesn't help that before (or perhaps at the start of) the show airing there was that big list of episode titles that came out that initially had them listed (seemingly) as a single 20-odd episode season.

Well it's a shame the show is ending, but as it's still throughly enjoyable I'd rather it went out on top and be fondly remembered than trundle on and get worse and worse.

We watched series 1 & 2 again recently - and it has overtaken RiD for my top-slot. Absolutely adore watching Animated and playing with the toys.
I even like Bumblebee. I usually NEVER like him!
A wee shame if it's all ending. Hopefully the next interation of the franchise be Animated style in a different locale ala: Turtles Fast Forward or the new Ben 10 show.

I thought the pilot was fantastic. I liked most of the designs. But I found season 1 bored me shitless and I could not figure out why for ages. It was well made, it was miles better than the last 3 TF shows, it wasn't written down to kids. Why was it not clicking for me?
Then it occured to me why. It's a pastiche show. It feels like overheated bits of older TF shows with not much original on top. Bits of Sunbow, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, RID, etc. It just felt like it was just reheated stuff in a slightly new form. Now of course the target audience (ie kids) won't know any of this, so the problem is mine. I never bothered with S2.
But of course that's just my opinion. I don't mind that it exists and I'm glad it makes people happy. It's given us some nice toys and a fresh design asthetic. I can certainly understand fans being annoyed at it being curtailed perhaps earlier than expected. I hope those of you who like it enjoy s3 when it airs.

I have only seen some of Animated - the opener and a smattering here and there of the first season. I think it is a very good show - production values are excellent, the production design is some of the most visually interesting we have had in a Transformers show in a while, great voice cast, the writing is surprisingly good. It didn't entirely grab me either though. I enjoyed what I saw of it well enough, but it didn't make me anxious to see any more of it.
I think it is a good show, and it has been nice to see it find itself a decent audience amongst the fan community. And although it isn't doing anything for me I can see why folk like it and I would say that maybe it is better for the show to go out leaving the audience wanting more than to limp along to an eventual mercy-killing.

I'm sure that even if there is no 'official' continuation, there are plenty of fans out there who might feel motivated to create new material.
