I thought Doc's last post said "Live gaggets" at first, then I was puzzled to see birds! Good job I'm pretty!
Many Scoobery Dooberies to Liz!
Piglet much better today, we kept her off nursery school in the morning 'cos she had a bad nights sleep. But she's been back to her usual self! She enjoying looking at my books on the Planets and Solar System at the mo, which pleases me immensely! Her favourate Planet is the Earth, "Where we live!".

Today seemed to be fraught with bad luck for me. It first started when I had to cycle into work in bad weather and my hands were freezing (due to my gloves falling out of my coat pocket somewhere as I was cycling home from work on Friday). I then put £1 in a can machine at work for a 60p can of coke and the machine couldn't be bothered to give me any change and then the same thing happened with the hot drinks machine where the machine didn't want to give me my 5p change. In the morning I had brought a bottle of coke and when I finished work I stuffed it into my coat pocket and as I was cycling back home it fell out of my pocket somewhere. Moments later whilst still on the road my Hubcap which I was wearing blew off in the wind but I managed to retrieve it easily enough.
Here's hoping tomorrow will be better!

An okay day at work was had today although the radio station that plays through the tannoy system at the place is starting to drive me insane. Why? The radio station is one called Smooth Radio and every day it plays the same music. There are some songs which are only heard on the station about once every seven or eight days but there are about six songs which are played every single day without fail. One of them is Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra while another is Gypsy's, Tramps and Thieves by Cher. A third one I don't know the name or artist but the song is annoying the hell out of me. I can't stand it and it gets so irritating every time its played but today the radio decided to treat us to two plays of the song - first time at about 8.15 this morning and the second time at about 3.30 this afternoon. As I've already said I don't know what the song is called (but it's a modern day female vocalist and the chorus of the song starts with the words 'do ya' screamed at the microphone!) but I can almost recite the song word for word because its been played so many times!

Worked till after half-six today then went to see Dirk Benedict as Columbo in 'Prescription: Murder' at the New Theatre. I have never seen such a cheesy production of actors over-acting and hamming it up in a proper theatre before, but they all seemed to be having a whale of a time time, and the Face has Peter Falk's mannerisms down to a tee, only more extreme. It was the first night, so they had a few logistical problems, such as the curtain not coming down properly when they changed the set between scenes. At one point a scene ended with the curtain coming down as far as the actors' knees. They just stood there for about twenty seconds waiting for it to come down fully so they could leave the stage. Then Columbo's legs started doing a bizarre dance and he skipped off in a highly camp manner, and the tension was well and truly broken.
Very enjoyable. The Royal Shakespeare Company it wasn't.

Sounds like a fab show, Martin! I'm a fan of Mr. Benedict.
Zudo, Dear Lord that'd dirve me crazy too! You poor soul. I suggest blowing up the tannoy system.

I received a letter today from the dole office that was nothing more than photocopy of a form the jobcentre sent to my former employers asking why I had been given the sack. The former workplace filled in the form in great detail not missing out a single thing about the termination of my employment. What made me laugh though is that the company has exposed themselves as idiots by filling in the form. Here are two of the questions on the form followed by the exact word-for-word answer they gave.
Did Mr. Meakin admit to the misconduct? Yes.
What explanation, if any, did he give? It was a joke, thought the paperwork would be checked prior to audits.
To cut a long story short the company had no intention of checking the paperwork for mistakes or inaccuracies before sending the paperwork to the auditors. If a genuine mistake was made in the paperwork other than the deliberate one I put in and the auditors found that mistake they could shut the factory down because the management there were more than happy to send unchecked paperwork to the auditors. This was the reason why I put the deliberate mistake in the paperwork in the first place to try and force the factory manager in question to check the paperwork to avoid such things happening but it seems it was in the company policy all the time that the gaffers don't check the paperwork and if the place is shut down by the auditors because of dodgy paperwork then the gaffers will blame the workers for not checking the paperwork when they filled it in!

Now off for a nice long weekend of 4 days! Easter fun has begun by having a lemon chicken takeaway then gorging on half a big Dairy Milk 'bar of plenty'.

Today, like several other days this week started out pretty bonkers and got crazier as it went on. Nipped out at lunchtime to watch a Cyberman and a Scarecrow menace passing shoppers, which was thoroughly entertaining.
Also discovered, whilst trying to watch the 3D trailer on a large screen in 3D, that the red-green glasses don't actually work for Karls. They didn't seem to add any apparent depth - just turned everything a sort of grey-brown colour. I think, to paraphrase Tigger, that Karls don't really do 3D.
Off work for four days now and thoroughly looking forward to it. Started things out by watching a bit of television - now that I have finally regained television reception in this house. I think I shall follow that up with some Doctor Who on audio and possibly something from my "to read" pile, which has grown a bit this month due to my being a bit busier than I would have liked.

I was given a nice 'Kit Kat Chunky' egg from my boss today. I resisted the temptation to devour it immediately. It remains on my desk. Available to all thieves.

I had a nice day out, pottering round North Berwick, having a look at the Seabird Centre and jumping a bus to the Museum of Flight, which was surprisingly lacking in many visitors on a public holiday. This did, however, mean that I had a good 15 minutes on Concorde without being encumbered by other tourists. It's quite cool being on that completely on your own. Surprisingly titchy on board.

Had a Good Friday drink with a friend at dinnertime today. I had about three pints in one pub with him then nipped off to a club for another pint and finally legged it back to his house for a few more cans to drink. I didn't get back home until about 6pm!

Just been having another play around with my camcorder and found the perfect place to position the camera that has adequate lighting and positioning. Unfortunately, I've hit two more snags. The first is that the sound quality is almost non existent and it doesn't pick up my voice at all well and the second is that I don't look very photogenic on camera!

Played host to the good Doctor yesterday and today. A grand time was had and a new Broadside produced. Look for it to go online next Saturday to tie in with the Moonbase 2 meetup.
