Has there been an unusually big gap there? #4 hit the stands here about 2 weeks ago (fireman + accessories).

No, 3 months as expected. IIRC the last one was a week or 2 late here too.

Bought Christmas presents for my god-daughter (9) and her sister (11).
The younger one gets Lego Friends 'Andrea's Speedboat Transporter'.
The older one gets Lego Star Wars 'Resistance Transport Pod'.
And I get a freebie from the shop: 'Lego 24 in 1 Holiday Countdown Set' (basically 24 Lego Christmas decorations).

I told M to buy it because of the shark. He seemed doubtful.

4 is 13th December - is it going monthly? The indicia still states it is published four times a year. Mystery. -Ralph

There was a 3 month gap between 3 & 4 here, and will be between 4 & 5. If they are going monthly then 4 in December and 5 in January would pretty much sync up the UK and Germany. It seems popular (disappears off the shelves quickly here, more so than the other Lego mags), so you never know.
Oddly, the 2 issue Batman series got a second go round here, but with the same cover dates as before. That one disappeared very quickly the first time round.

I have found the City mags to be harder to find than the other Lego mags. I have brought every issue because of the minifigs (and shark). SW is just every now and then. I don't bother with the other ones.
I got the first Batman one but forget to get the second one for the Joker!
Amusingly, there is a newsagent in Linlithgow which sells the magazine polybags separately in its window.

They have form for doing that with certain cover-mounts as I recall, so they did seem the most likely suspects.

I haven't bothered with the second one; that Joker figure doesn't appeal to me at all somehow. Got the new Star Wars mag today, the Y-Wing is lovely. Next issue is Kylo Ren's shuttle and it actually looks quite nice. Also, a load of Lego Last Jedi character stickers.
