Maybe I can provide a glimpse into the future by flicking through the current Nexo issue on the stands over here... What's German for Exciting News for All Our Readers? It is dangerous to speculate on the future in a universe of quantum uncertainty. Best not to. While I did not heed your wise words, the future remains a closed book. The current issue here is polybagged with trading cards.

Polybagged in black. The Knights are all killed off in a last ditch blaze of glory effort. The cover-mounted toy is a bag of red LEGO flowers with a green baseplate.

New Cloud City is very nice, but as I found an original at the car boot last year I think Im happy to pass.
I do want the medibay set as soon as it stops being silly money.

Also saw a random Halowean set the other day. The lack of sub heading or other text on the front combined with the purple colour of the box certainly made it stand out.

You have seen the price tag on the collector's edition Millennium Falcon, right?
If I had that kind of money to spare, this Cloud City is the most tempting LEGO set in that kind of price range I've ever seen! It'll never happen though...

I think that if I had that much money to spend on LEGO... I'd probably spread it around on a sampling of other sets, some of the generic brick boxes and a pile of joints and connectors from the spare-parts service. But then, I've mostly lost interest in licensed LEGO sets. The mark-up on them for licensing costs makes them an expensive way of getting parts for building other things. Being LEGO they are inevitably going to be broken down and consigned to the brick box after a while, and the likelihood of them being reconstituted as the thing they began as is rather minimal...
(LEGO stuff rarely stays permanently assembled - the only official kit which has remained permanently assembled is one of the two Galaxy Squad mecha I own. The other one of those, and the fighter craft from the same line ended up donating their parts to the Gepard Custom "Wild Hunter", which is unlikely to be disassembled in a hurry).
It just doesn't feel cost-effective a lot of the time.

What's going on here then?
Trading cards to collect? Hmm. Sadly Lego does not excite me. However I do slip Sainsbury's a few quid each week so I shall stockpile cards for those who need them!
