Fiver from Sainsburys: green army men set. It is superb. Three soldiers and a medic. They come with a jeep, stretcher, mine detector, case, 2 walkie talkies, 2 binoculars and 2 rifles! Lots of play potential. Two of the dudes are currently carrying their injured comrade on the stretcher while their pal races over in the jeep!
It is recommended, especially at that price. It's branded with the TOY STORY logo.

KO Minifigures in simular packaging have hit my Entertainer. They are called 'Click Bricks'.
They are just the same as Lego Minifigures but for £1.
Anyone want me to scalp buy a few of these if interested?

Following on from Scotcon discussion, that Lego Death Star set looks amazing, but waaaaaay too expensive for what it is, I'd baulk at half that price.
Lego is expensive isn't it? Crikey.

It's the price you pay for Lego a) having the most expensive licenses (Star Wars, Batman- briefly) and b) being one of the few toy ranges still manufactured in Europe. Mega Bloks showed how much you can drop the price on building block kits if you have them made in China. Don't forget that China has massively undervalued its currency to drive exports, so if that ever gets redressed the knock-on effect on our toy shop shelves will be breathtaking and Lego won't look so luxurious next to everything else.
That said, I ain't payin' no 275 quid for no Death Star.

I understand why it's expensive. It's just the price-points are a barrier towards me buying that much of it, even though it is a great toy thing.

Aside from the licensing; putting Lego together can't be that expensive.
I'd love to buy some of the landscapes to dispay my TFs on and use for Decoupage material, but the price of say £11 for a couple of sheets of road is offputting alone, despite that they probably cost 10p or under to vacuum form.
I really want that Toy Story jeep... Down to £8 in my local Tescos. Mainly after some Army Dudes. I hope it goes down further.
I still want to know how Click Bricks are getting away with thier KO stuff and it being sold in the Entertainer.

Alas there was no sign of the '3 for 2' promo in TRU Edinburger so some SW sets must wait for another day. Admiral Ackbar minifig and Lego City Advent Calender on the way from Ebayland.

Are there any lego sets that are decent but reasonably priced which might make nice Christmas presents, or are they all in the realm of £30 for a small set?

I have an original Kenner Akbar doing the rounds somewhere. ===KEN I've an original, that I mailed away for, a POTF2 version and got a Vintage version on the way. I've also got the POTJ Mon Cal officer. Did you know that the POTF2 tri logo "large photo" version fo Akbar is one of the rarest Star Wars figures? www.rebelscum.com/euroackbar.aspThe rebelscum text is a lie. One large photo figure was easy to find, and that's the Luke Bespin that Argos had.

Sadly, I am unable to provide details of the Advent Calender as apparently Royal Mail delivered it to the sender rather than to me. Though the seller is not responding to requests asking for a refund. I'm not having much luck on Ebay of late.

How are these Lego KOs getting away with it all?
Shame about the Advent Calendar, Ralph. Hope your refund comes through.
I got an Ackbar keychain to go with my Boba Fett one.
Series 4 looks great! I must get the Mad Scientist and the Musketeer.
