Tonight I eat quorn burgers, croquette potatoes and fresh mushrooms, all from the oven, with gravy.
Don't think I've ever had this precise combination before, and I bet no-one else here has either!

How's about making August Seacon Month!? ===KEN The Seacons will be very sleepy by the end of the week. They'll need their rest. I think an entire Seacon Month would be too much for them. Shhh, Skalor. Go back to sleep.

In a moment of desperation last week I applied for a prison job. Unlike many of the jobs I actually wanted, I got an offer of an interview but I've had to turn it down. I wouldn't be able to get there and besides I wouldn't be able to handle that type of job anyway having found out more. I just feel fucking stupid. I've never not attended a job interview before. Don't even know what I was thinking of applying for that.
There aren't any permanent jobs going so I've just been applying for full-time temp jobs but I can't get those so now I'm applying for part-time temp jobs but I can't live on part-time wages. Don't know what to do.

The only interview I never attended was for a job I thought I wouldn't get anyway, which was a stupid move on my part!
But keep it up Ralph, you're a bright intelligent lad, something will come along!

Something will turn up Ralph. But yeah I don't think a prison career is the ticket for you.
In other news I'm just burning the files for two of the TMUK zines for AA - the splendid BW Animated and G100. Then some haggis rolls as I have yet to eat today.

This happened locally. Came across it trying to get to ASDA,and the way was blocked, but I'm not complaining. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-10871314What struck me was that at the time it was clear a major incident had happened and the area was crawling with people apprearing with cameras to take pictures. Why? I did overhear one reporter complaining you could "hardly see the explosion". Human nature is so sad sometimes. -Ralph

Yeah, it is pretty awful. Unfortunately an incident like that always tends to bring folk out to rubberneck. There is a streak of something ghoulish in people.
A completely different incident today reminded me that one of the downsides of my current job is it can sometimes make me less than sanguine about human nature so an example of disaster tourism does tend to reinforce what I am feeling at the moment about humanity as a species.

There are good ones out there. I know, but ta muchly for the reminder. I just have a job that unfortunately exposes me to more of the bad things about human nature than it does the good most of the time. It can generate a certain level of cynicism about the species if one is not careful. Karl

Oh! Oh! I have a new display area! I erected myself this very day. It's a shelf in the down stairs loo!!! The down stairs loo is rapidly becoming my toilet. I'm going to get a sign that says something like "Ian's Study", which I know isn't very original and a little middle aged, but what ya gunna do?
And the first figeroons to be displayed upon my new luxury display area you ask? My PROWL COLLECTION! With G1 Soundwave, Beast Wars Ravage, Magnaboss (Grrr!) and also First Appearance Armour Iron Man (Marvel Legends) for some reason.
