Hmmm, there's a few series I'd have liked to have seen in there - Armoured Gideon, the Friday Rogue Trooper. yes you're on the money with those two. they both fall in the era least included… sorry for again referring to the other forum, but this graph from there is really interesting. Shows just how little respect the mid 90s era gets in this collection! either that or the pages are really hard to reproduce.(yellow is speculation based on the announced extension)

Hc's of the Starlord era Strontium Dog and Slaine The Horned God on their way to Turnbull Towers. Got my Stront HC today- it’s a thing of beauty! Now wish I’d ordered the Horned God one but then I do already own that from the Hachette series.

Intrigued to note the next bagged floppy with the Meg has the first parts of the original stories for some of the Vigilant characters, to go with the Furman Vigilant strip in the Meg itself. Nice.

Postie hasn't been today, so I can live in hope of it still arriving today.

Mine arrived yesterday, but I was too busy rearranging heavy furniture to read. So I treated myself this morning before cracking on with The Daily Straxus and TFNation stuff.
It's lovely, lovely stuff. There's a rawness to the early Strontium Dog material, but even then feels a lot more fully fleshed out than Dredd. The benefit of Carlos' unifying presence.

Tonight I will treat myself and sit down with the Slaine HC and gaze in awe of the art.

America isn’t the the case files?? Are you joking with me? Was it not billed as Judge Dredd when published? Is that how they might have justified it...

I can't recall the justification from the time - America should have been in 15, America: Fading Of The Light in 26 - but I think the argument ran it wasn't the Dredd strip. The argument seems to fall down a bit and does look like Rebellion were milking their cash cow separately.
The Dead Man also wasn't included in 13/14

I enjoyed reading the Vigilant origins floppy with the Megazine this month, but it occurred to me that most of what is in there must be the first pages of all the individual trades that go with those characters, so it's like a treasury sampler. I really liked the Deathwish story, might get that one. It just reminded me that if I want to read some old non-2000ad British comics stories I have hundreds of Eagles yet to read.

I also note the vigilant strip is 22 pages, so enough to be a standalone issue. Maybe it was an intended special that had no release slot, or maybe sales of the last vigilant book meant this new story changed publication direction. Weird to do it all at once though. 22 pages could run over several issues.

Yes, it was clearly meant to be a Special.

Can't say I am impressed with this year's Sci-Fi Special. Half of it is reprints!
Guess the postie thought the same: rather mangled and ripped by the time it got to me!

The reprints were all excellent and I'd not read any of them before. Could have done without the Dante one for the spoilerific ending.

I quite liked this year's special - and harkening back to earlier Sci-Fi specials with the reprint content as well!
It was a good mix I thought.

It half of what is usually an all-new Special is old stuff the price should be lowered. Unusual dickery from Rebellion.

Yes, as they announced it was a celebration of rebellion's 20 years.
