I'm all for living in the past usually, but I'd go further back than December.

Caught up to Prog #2214. I do like a comic issue with no ads and strips from p3 to the back page!
2021 getting off to a strong start. Meg quality has also picked up of late (I am up to #427): only the too dark printing for the alt-universe story is letting the side down. The Returners has Si Spencer's usual thin writing but I love the art/colours.

I imagine Rebellion would like it to be an additional title but the market can't support it.

Caught up to this week's Prog. Very strong line up of late. The weekly is really firing on all cylinders at the moment. Hershey book 2 is really great.
No Prog #2200 today alas.

One positive of Regened is that they have replaced the old jumping-on point issues so stories can now run longer if need be without having to end for that. Old Man Burns likes stories that have more than 12 episodes.

Been doing a massive sort out in the loft over the last couple of days and listened to the last six or so thrillcasts while doing it. The two part interview with Kevin O'Neill is a mammoth five hour listen, but very entertaining. The mad thing is that at 1.5x speed he sounds just like Matt Dallas.

I've already told you that and you've already told me off for it!
I don't listen to drama that way (except for the Archers and that hardly counts as drama) only spoken word radio. To be honest, on my iPod it's more like 1.25x and doesn't really affect the voices. Just means I can listen to more in the same time. I can do a 28 minute radio programme in a 20 minute commute.

I will True Friend you for not listening to speech the way it was spoken!!!! It affects cadence, delivery, timing, inflection, meaning!!!
You know how to hear a 28 minute programme? You hear it in 28 minutes!!! 28 MINUTES, PINWIG, YOU FOOL!!!

I'd agree with that for drama, but for standard radio broadcasts it's no different to the speed you read a book. Sometimes slow and steady if you want to drink it all in, sometimes quickly if you're just processing and absorbing information. For example, while giving the fridge a thorough clean this morning I listened to this week's editions of The Now Show, The Media Show and Digital Human. Didn't miss anything by going at 1.5x speed but I'd have missed out on one of those listening at 1x speed.
Digi Human was really interesting - about how reverse image searching solved an internet mystery in seconds that people had failed to work out for years, which is all jolly clever, but at the same time it means people in witness protection programmes now live in more fear because if they're caught anywhere by images that appear in anyone's social media they could be found by people they don't want to find them.
See! I miss nothing, but gain more. Win win.

FINALLY! Judge Buell! Good to see that member of the supporting cast again. This week is 2227 and I think he last appeared in 1806, 421 issues or 8 and a bit years ago. There'd been hints that something had happened to him position wise, mainly from the Judge Pin storyline but also from a couple of Council of Five appearances. I wonder if we'll find out what went on and if his role early in Trifecta tipping Dredd off contributed....

I've gone back to reading complete stories. I'm just wasting money otherwise. Last week I read all the complete stories done this year, everything up to Thistlebone. I wasn't hugely impressed with any of them. The art for Slaine is perfect but the story wasn't worthy of it. Last part of that next week. Durham Red was alright.
