Opened to usual poly bag from Rebellion this morning to find the subscription gift facsimile of the pilot issue Oooh. That sounds impressive. I've not heard of it being used for this before. I assume you need to roll up the comic and use the edge to scratch that itch? It's quite violent this prototype. Mach One cuts a man's head clean off with a karate chop on panel and there's a lot of Shako biting people's heads off too. This sounds a rather extreme way to deal with an itchy scalp. But if it works...

I recommend boarders head over to the 2000AD webshop where they have a scrotnig sale on right now. The cheaper items are going out of stock quickly but with discounts of up to 75% you're sure to find something worth adding to your shelf! Oh, wait it's supposed to be a christmas promotion for gifts. Well, whatever, put it in the cupboard until then.

I've never got into 2000 AD comics, since usually when I've given them a look they've hit me as too bleak and horrific.
But I like the two live-action Dredd films, and I've just finished reading the novellas comprising 'Judge Anderson: Year One', which I enjoyed. Anderson I can deal with because she doesn't subscribe to either order or chaos but just wants to help people. And make jokes to lighten serious situations.
Year Two up next.

We should get you on to some Anderson comic collections then.. I've got Volume 1, the black & white one. Didn't like the look of the colour ones (Vol. 2 onwards) that followed when flicking through in FP. But that's not to say the stories are worse, just the way they were coloured. Martin

It would appear I must occupy the Ralph role when it comes to comics. Pretty sure Volume 2 is Shamballa, and the Kev Walker stuff, all painted colour iirc, there may be a short Carlos one in there. All cracking stuff, though the Shamballa et al is more muted than Walker's acrylic and goache.
Anderson tended to fare better and managed to avoid most of the 90's computer colouring that even hit Dredd for a while.

Solid choices, though Brink I feel is a bit erring on the bleak perhaps for Martin's taste.

Pleased to see in the Meg editorial this month that all stories finish in the November issue to clear the decks for a jumping on issue in December. Needs a bit of a lift, the Meg. Been flat for too long. I was actually starting to question whether I need it.

Another subscription gift randomly turned up today. First time they've sent a print rolled in a tube to protect it properly, plaudits there definitely. However as the print is barely larger than A4, of a poster that was originally six prog pages stitched together, any remastering they've done is lost. This would have been so much better as a poster.

Ordered some books from the rather good Tooth Shop sale. 10 books and a poster mag for £51 inc postage.
Could easily have spent much, much more.

I’ve just gone back for a second helping. Mills & Ezquerra’s 3rd World War in Exclusive HC & also Al’s Baby. The standout items are the Beatles book & Marney The Fox which are less than a fiver.

I was saved from this because by the time I went back to buy, most of the things I wanted were out of print.
However I do have another two 50% off vouchers for use in the next 12 months, so it'll happen again at some point.

I have noticed that some books have gone in and out of stock. Grabbed a few later on that were initially out of stock. I imagine the inventory is being updated as the warehouse is cleared out of old stock.
You are not safe, Pinwig.
