But at the same time slightly practical. At least that hat may be useful.

Many thanks. As an aside - setting myself the target of doing 1 a day means I am actually drawing more as a result (as you can see from the art hitting the forum recently). It's quite effective at combating the typical artistic procrastination.

Lurgy not withstanding I have drawn up to and including Sunday's installment - an early shout out to Ralph who you have to thank for the main "punchline" to Sunday's strip.

Wow! A Straxus strip without him actually being it. I bet his audio receptors are burning in that fishbowl he's in.
Gotta give Dirge some karma points for his present idea.

This is going from strength to strength. It's the final panel punchlines that make or break strips of this length - they trump everything else in terms of importance - and the fish one is the best of all. But without compromising that, you managed to make the first panel a standalone funny also. Exalted.
I think they work best when you finish on the punchline (visual or verbal), without characters providing any follow-up commentary/reaction. Number #7 was perfect because Octane's words were part of the mixed visual/verbal punchline. Number #5 could have been a standard three panels (rather than a squashed-up four) ending on Octane silently holding the mask and snorkel.

Numbers 5 and 7 are great (5 being my personal favourite). Number 6 didn't work for me, I'm afraid - it looked lovely, though.

The running order of this is quite fluid as ideas come to me, things get shuffled around. Because I did 7 first and I had the snorkel idea, my gut was to do it in three panels, but being aware of 7 I didn't want it to be a retread, but looking back it should have been. Lesson learned - go with my instinct! I'm glad you enjoyed the first panel - I wanted to throw in more revellers but I'm glad I didn't as it looks like Straxus is having a crap time at a really crap party. A brief interlude on fish antics after today until Monday - but there is more fish/Straxus japery to be had. Andy

Humour is pretty subjective so not everything is going to be everyone's cup of tea. Though i am glad a lot of the gags are coming through okay. Of all the art so far I do think six is the best myself. Very happy with that. Although - I think Tuesday's might be a winner if I can pull it off properly. (PS - that last sentence will be even filthier once you've read Tuesday's). Andy
