You know, Inferno is actually growing on me. I wasn't that fussed about him originally but I am quite getting to like the look of him.
The Legends Brawn and Beachcomber are very nice indeed - the Universe Legends do seem to be a great set of little toys.

Overload is a suprise, one of those already in Universe but decent paint job. Leo Prime = ugly. Dinobot looks better than Cheetor.

A bit of a mixed bag I think. The Rodimus looks quite nice - much more rounded than the very angular 80's toy, but still quite true to the sense of the design. I'm not so fond of Warpath though - I think perhaps because they've gone from the original toy which transformed into a fairly good version of an actual thing to this one which turns into a bit of a collection of unlikely looking parts. Humanoid form is decent enough but the vehicle mode doesn't really do it for me (ironic, seeing as it is basically the same vehicle mode as Armada Megatron - I found it worked for him, but it doesn't do anything for me as Warpath for some reason). Hate to say it but new Wheelie looks like he's grown up from his previous ugly ducking stage. Vast improvement. Did anyone see the Henkei Hotshot pic? A bit pointless I think, the older figure was articulate as he is. Henkei HotShot & Jam Copter

I am delighted that there is a new Wheelie toy. I'd seen the name in a list of upcoming toys, but had assumed it would be a random name re-assignment or a repaint of something in orange. So pleased to see a new mould based on the original toy/character.

The Shoulders and arms were v poor though. This fixes that and adds more detail to the mold. I'm interested by it

Oh it looks pretty good, but my antithesis towards the character precludes me being unable to like the toy!

I can't stand Hotshot but more could'nt stand the way Takara seemed to over promote the character. It's probably just me. Yet more Armada salt in the Classics sugar bowl I'll have to scoop out from my mind I owned the original toy, well... the cooler Japanese Laser-rod variant anyway. I moved it on but still have the box if anyone wants it for whatever reason

I'm not a huge fan of Wheelie as a toy (although certain TMUK stories and "Spotlight:Wheelie" have endeared him to me a lot as a character) but I have to say that the Universe Wheelie looks quite good, a nice reinvention there.
I have no feelings about the Hotshot whatsoever - didn't like the original toy, or the character so it is one of those ones that just skates past me. It is a little unnerving to think that Hotshot has now been around long enough to qualify as part of the "heritage" of Transformers. I'm used to thinking of him as a johnny-come-lately newcomer.

That's another thing too, Hotshot was more of a "Curtain Jerker" than a "Main Eventer" if you get what I mean . Cheetor and Dinobot just about scrape in from "Midcard". In terms of look, I get the same visual vibe from this toy pic as I do with the upcoming MOTU Classics, where they are same looking toys but with more detail and articulation. Good thing about Hotshot is that he has furthered the Deluxe + Partner side of the sub-line and it makes me wonder which Transformer and buddy will be remediated for Classics/Henkei next. ===KEN

I was proud to say that besides legends Hotshot I didnt own a single version of that character then earlier this year I got Armada Hotshot at a car boot sale. Only cost me 20p, even then I put it back 2 or 3 times and did another loop hoping it would be gone. When it wasn't I caved and bought it. 6 years of lowered expectation and a a price tag of one fifth of a pound and I found I didn't hate the thing near as much as I had expected. The transformation is different and it has character even if it is a retarded jam loving one.
The universe version seems to have done away with that character, the only thing that has ever tempted me to look at the toy was that it looked fun (I dread to think how much money I wasted on that line for that reason) and now its gone. Of course thanks to FP's love of hotshot moulds and that carboot find I now own a representative of each HOtshot mold so my completist nature is going to scream that if I have all of those rubbish ones I should give this one a chance.
Sigh.
As for Hotshots status as a main eventer I think hasbro always wanted him to be one. By default he did become one simply because he was the only consistant presence through the three series that wasn't a G1 character or have a massive reinvention in any of the lines.

TFClub have pictures of Classics Drag-Strip and Overkill. Drag-Strip as a repaint of Mirage looks fantastic, though I'm not convinced by the Grimlock repaint. Warning: the page is very, very, very, very, very slow to load.
