They do look very nice - I think the Roadbuster is the real prize of the lot, but the colours on Dirge go a long way to making that mold a lot more appealing that it was the first time around.

Was thinking the same. The Roadbuster is nice, if it was single craded I would buy one.
Note how these are the same as Autobot city - Voyager and dlx
I got to handle a TRU Cybertron Starscream a while back and thought that was an improvement.

Interesting. Hasbro took a similar approach to GI Joe figures last year, selling them with classic comics from the 1980s. It's interesting to see Rat Bat being reused as a character. The resemblance to the the Megatron:Origin character design is well done.

They look pretty nice. I am curious as to what the comics are. Springer/Ratbat is supposed to have a War Within issue, Roadbuster/Dirge one of the Target 2006 issues. Not sure as to the specific issues. Or why those ones on the ebay auction appear to have the wrong comics in the boxes. Interesting. Hasbro took a similar approach to GI Joe figures last year, selling them with classic comics from the 1980s. And then starting putting new material in the later waves. Which I hope is put into a collection at some point as I don't want to have to import them all.

Hound and Cyclonus look the good stuff. Cheetor is an almost certain pass. Need better pic of Inferno

It's amazing how much mini-bot design techniques haven't evolved in 25 years, sigh.
Cyclonus is made of win.

Huh. A voyager Inferno. As I requested. Thanks Aaron! He's rather brickish in vehicle mode (but then he is a fire engine and they are supposed to be that shape) but it ought to translate to a really tall robot mode. That Cyclonus close-up on Tformers looks like pure evil! I approve. Longarm/Shockwave looks brilliant as well. Cheetor's cheetah mode has never looked so good, though unless his shoulders haven't been moved round to the right place it looks like his robot mode has suffered. The legends look tops. Brawn is pretty good and it's nice to see Beachcomber and Cosmos again, even though Cosmos seems to have lost his finger guns. EDIT: Marvelous News has pictures of the... third(?) wave of Marvel TFsThe anticipated Venom repaint as Carnage, Iron Man repaint as War Machine, and... I... he... I just... I'm so happy. -Nick

Hmm, I like some of these, not so fussed about others.
Cyclonus has a really nice humanoid mode - not sure about the spaceship-thingy mode. It has too many exposed greebly-bits for my liking - I'd like it with smoother lines I think. The Hound isn't bad at all though.
Animated Shockwave does absolutely nothing for me I'm afraid. Neither mode particularly inspire any reaction in me. I feel much the same about Longarm as well. The darker coloured repaint of Megatron looks quite good though - not as good as the grey version, but if they must repaint it (and they must or stores won't stock it) then that scheme is a decent way to do it.

Some of those look nice. I like Cyclonus's robot mode, but it's a shame his jet mode is not sleeker. Inferno looks good as well.
At first glance I thought Animated Shockwave had three eyes; one red, two yellow.

Ohhhh, very interesting photos!
Animated Shockwave- urk, hate it. Kinda pleased though 'cos I wont have to buy it.
Universe Classics! Freakin' Mother McFreak they all look fantastic!!!! Cyclonus, Hound, all of 'em! Wish wish wish Brawn was delux. Legends BB and Cosmos are musts. i love Cosmos. How arse-spankingly awesome does Ravage look!!! My pants have exploded! Inferno looks great, but I'm gunna resist this one, reluctantly, 'cos I find Energon Inferno does just fine, esp as I have the Japan Inferno Volt as Graple.
The only rubbish looking one IMO is Cheetor. Looks terrible. Original Transmetal appears far superior to me.
Darn tootin', they're doing us proud with these Classics on the whole ain't they?! Very exciting!
BUT WHERE'S DELUX CLASSICS JAAAAAAAZZZZZZ?!?!?!

Hasbro said at Botcon '07 that only the mainest of main characters would appear in Movie, Animated AND Universe while most others would appear in two at most. Prowl is apparently an exception because his Animated iteration is so far from his other appearances.
Ratchet is in Movie and Animated (though he can be done in Universe as a repaint). Ironhide is in Movie and Universe (likewise). Jazz is in Movie and Animated, but it appears he's well known enough to get a legend in Universe as well.

This is bullshit. Classics was mainly new molds with a few repaints, classics 2.0 has swung too far the opposite way with the repaints taking over.

It's just a store exclusive boxset of reissues. Ignore it and wait for the newer classics toys.

That stores are wanting extra product (and so repaints are being done to fill orders) is an encouraging sign of the line being healthy, I'd say. Line stays healthy, lasts longer, more new moulds and everyone is happy and can go for tea and cake.

Indeed. And a lot of kids who were introduced to TF with the movie won't have encountered Cybertron before. As long as it stays in moderation (and Hasbro pick their moulds carefully) I reckon we'll be fine. I mean, Inferno (Armada Red Alert in red) is one of the fastest selling voyagers we stock in Toys'r'us. It's doing a damn sight better than Incinerator, that's for sure.

` Some of those new "Universe/Classics/25th" toys looks quite ace, especially Hound and the new mini Autobots. Cyclonus is pretty good, but not very sleek in jet mode.

Dammit that Dragstrip is going to make me want the Japanese exclusive one.
Overkill oddly doesn't look as good as last years Botcon customising class version. Not that I ever built mine. It remains a bag'o'bits.
Really why are they using that Prime again. The Megatron though looks rather good.

Generally, I like the Megatron, but the grey on the shoulders seems too dark.
